PN Racing aluminum wheels

Philip from PN has been very kind to share with me some sample pictures of their new aluminum wheels for the Dnano's. He was also very kind to give me permission to post pictures.
I am proud to present to you three new Dnano wheel styles. http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ano/DD0000.jpg
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ano/DD5000.jpg
And my favorite style so far!

He also told me that production will be available in three weeks time, so I expect these to be available in a month's time.
Aren't they lovely? Thank you PN!

arch2b 10-21-2009 09:02 PM

damn, pn has raised the bar!

Marcro 10-21-2009 10:05 PM

Yep, I knew they would make something great! PN has been really innovative lately with their A-arm suspension and other similar stuff. I figured it was only a matter of time before we get some cool Dnano stuff from them. Can't wait to see the rest of their line up. I'm going to try and get a set soon for testing. Those six-spoke ones would look hot on a 911!

arch2b 10-21-2009 10:08 PM

i agree, the 6 split spokes looks best. if the 10 spokes were say 12, i'd like the look better, more like some of the gt500 race car sets.

Jellis 10-21-2009 11:28 PM

Any word on the cost

Pierro 10-22-2009 02:47 AM

Damned!

I can't see the pictures... Can someone re-host this on the gallery or via imageshack?

Really curious to see that...

Marcro 10-22-2009 10:58 AM

I can see the pictures just fine, don't know why their not showing up for you.
About cost, I'm not sure. But I'm going to guess $15 since that's what he asked me for a preview cost. Only time will tell for sure.

Pierro 10-22-2009 12:58 PM

Here at home I now can see the pictures.

And... waw!
Love the second and third design. The second one could really be a killer under a ferrari shell...

nitrojunkie 10-22-2009 07:37 PM

I'm interested in a set of these. I like the second pics wheels with the 5 spoke look.PN has raised the bar considerably and I thought the Aluma tech stuff looked good.

RCP-Tracks, Inc 10-22-2009 09:49 PM

These look great. Philip said they will have a great price. Can't wait to get a set.

Marcro 10-23-2009 06:31 PM

It's nice to see more optional wheels available for the Dnano. I'm very pleased with these styles.

PN-Racing 12-07-2009 03:01 AM

This wheel rim already in stock!

XStream 12-08-2009 02:48 PM

Hi,

I guess the 18 / 19 / 20 are the wheel sizes? I found a size of 16mm in the specs of my Porsche 911 GT3, is this correct? Will the 18 wheels fit?

kimochi 12-08-2009 05:44 PM

Can some one tell me what size F/R rims I should buy for the McLaren F1 GTR. Thanks

check the specs for all cars in the dNaNo Optional Parts & Technical Data file (Section 7, Page 6). the McLaren F1 GTR is 18F/19R. our most recent NanoTrax member picked that one up.... have you got yours yet? :D

i threw some 20's on the Z, baby! BLING BLING!! :D

nitrojunkie 12-09-2009 04:22 PM

How well do they take abuse?Have you noticed any tucking or rolling under of the wheel or spoke warpage? We have several people running the Alumatech wheels and the performance has been good so far. Ilike the PN's but they look like they may be more fragile than the others due to the thin spokes. What are they priced at?

MrNanoTrax 12-10-2009 07:42 AM

all 3 styles w/pricing are in the optional parts section.... they are light but unless you plan on stepping on them, i don't see them being any less durable than the plastic ones :D i think they look great and they 'feel' better on my 350z.

I'm having issues on rcp track with one of the rears

my right rear I think loosens up every time I put it on the rcp track. Even after I tighten it up real tight with the larger of the two screw driver sizes in the official Dnano screw driver set. I'm using the aluminum hubs also. I guess it happens every time the car hits the side foam at full speed. I wish they put 2 pins like the stock wheels instead of 1. I also wish Dnano made a hex driver for those wheel screws. I might try some lock tight or crazy glue, Im just afraid of stripping the screw. They hide very nice on the mazda 787b though.

arch2b 01-27-2010 09:34 AM

i always use some removeable lock tite, i think it's the purple tube, after loosing a couple wheel screws even with the plastic wheels. with each car, i bought a full set of screws as i knew i would be loosing these frequently. it was a wise decision.
i prefer hex head screws myself but do they make them this tiny? i've had tiny hex head set screws and the driver strips easily when this tiny so i'm not sure it would be worthwhile.

i too am very worried about stripping the plastic hubs so i am very careful when tightening the screws.

yes, you can find the tool sizes on some websites under the product description. it may even be in the documentation for accessories, options, etc.

microracer30 01-27-2010 02:14 PM

the perfect driver tool would be shallow and maybe have a magnet inside to hold the screw strait. you can even go all out and add a led light to it.
sounds like an opportunity for someone.
