Wow... sign me up for that rig, it's so cool.

usagi 10-21-2002 10:35 PM

I can`t wait I post it when i get one!

tinyrc 10-23-2002 12:00 AM

Looks good; not sure about the exposed ESC/Rx though?! Seems dangerous!

usagi 10-23-2002 03:52 AM

of course it will be covered:)

urq435 10-23-2002 02:01 PM

The motor mount area looks very small. I just wander how to upgrade to 180 motor? Any potential solutions or hop-ups are available when it releases?

usagi 10-23-2002 02:07 PM

The "quickchange" motor mount is a great easy in easy out! But as I said before only Yokomo parts are usable (but we will be later).

urq435 10-23-2002 02:58 PM

I think there is not much clearance between rear damper and motor. So I believe it will be very difficult to change the motor mount alone. :) You might have to elevate the damper mount as well.

Well you might think that it is BUT its not that way at all! Really it has more then plenty of space to pull the motor in and out. God its better then what the micro rs4 has (YUCK). The Mini-z is the better. and as for the mid24 kawada its just right:)

was ist los? 10-30-2002 06:46 PM

is the rear air diffuser removeable?

usagi 10-30-2002 06:48 PM

ybasically everything to this point is removable.

cojono 10-30-2002 11:56 PM

Very cool, gotta have it. Is the battery charger included in the kit?

Hey Usagi E mail me. Don't have your email address with me. Out in Cal. Say hello to Mrs. Bunny. p

usagi 10-30-2002 11:57 PM

Hi guy hows its going................:) Nice to hear from you..........:)

Yes they first ones are RTR, then they will release only cars.
the chargers, radio, and car all come as one.

usagi 10-31-2002 12:15 AM

you get the email?

sillyboi 11-20-2002 12:35 AM

very cool car, but like u said usagi, after they release the rtr version would the car be available as just the chassis + body?

like this one click me

because i was wondering, since u have 4 AA batteries i can still use my 1/10 scale rc car esc... and just pick up a servo and motor... would my 1/10 scale electronics work in that car??

Hey good Q`s!:D

The car should be out any day no in Japan! :D(I hope)

The RTR will be related first then the "Just Car"But i think the speed control servo will be included with the "CAR ONLY" At this time you can`t mod the car that way. But I think you can in a future date.

kev71H 12-14-2002 09:24 PM

when will this thing be available?

tinyrc 12-14-2002 09:47 PM

Earlier, they told us December, then changed to "Christmas", and with that less than two weeks away, I'm guessing it's now "2003"!

kev71H 12-14-2002 11:20 PM

will you get it TinyRC?

New pics of the Sonic

Covered electronics... Comes with the charger for the special batteries and the Yokomo FM radio like the Puchi Maru... can use Mini-Z bodies... really low CG... soft suspension... really nice and compliant so it will be pretty grippy on most track surfaces... "real" servo... diffuser on the underside... really light weight=fast... due out in the US in a month

geesh akura2, you're not making the fact that i can't buy this thing yet any easier... :p :D

another sweet pic

MicroRCEngineering 05-08-2003 06:05 PM

Nice pics, Akura2

I might get one when it comes out, but I remain loyal to Kawada Mid24. It is in my opinion, the best 1/28th / 1/24th RC. That's just my personal preference though.

Where are your pics?... you took more than I did...:)

tinyrc 05-11-2003 12:33 AM

Great pics akura2! We're working on getting these the moment they are released!

akura2 06-16-2003 05:56 PM

Cool...any word yet?

Btman 10-23-2003 04:30 PM

Any word yet on the Sonic Racer's US release date? I never heard of XMODS until a few months ago and they are already in stores and flying off shelves. Even the new Kyosho Mini-z is available! Could someone please get us some new info on this car. It is close to a year past its original planned release date.

N2Deep 11-05-2003 08:39 PM

I think Yokomo is not coming out with the car because Kyosho has just released the new MR02 and because of this, Yokomo's plan for racers to use some of Kyosho's mini z MR01 bodies fell apart. Knowing now that Yokomo is going to have to go through car companies (like Ferrari) to get permission for making new bodies is a hard and complicated issue.

strakka 11-29-2003 09:23 PM

but i thought these things had low CG? if thats true than shouldnt mr02 bodies fit? pretty good timing on kyosho's part tho... stalling competition and all ~LoL~

george 03-14-2004 12:36 PM

i really like the truck bodies. can it fit an xmod(i no id have to do some modifications to it but does it fit over the wheels)?

Racer9 08-17-2004 01:54 PM

If they made these they could kick every cars ass in a road race. Look how low slung it is.
