6 cell and body questions

Sup guys I did the six cell mod on my Supra but my body looks funny raised high in the back so do anyone know if the Iwaver bodies and the Mini Z Overland bodies will fot on the Xmods without having to do a whole lot of modding besides the velcro on the battery covers?

dragon4450 12-02-2004 07:07 PM

the main problem is the wheel base. if you want a body that will fit with no prolems try to get the skyline body or the civic.

Rodrick 12-03-2004 09:46 AM

whay do you mean by wheelbase im still a lil new to xmods but i thought the mini-z ,iwaver, and xmods were all the same size 1/28 scale

dragon4450 12-03-2004 11:25 AM

think of it like this. there are 1000s of real cars on the road but not all of them have the same amount of distance between the wheels. with that in mind yes they are the same scale but they dont have the same distance between the wheels. all of these are 1/28ish scale but the xmod has an adjusutable wheel base to make things more proper to scale. where the mini-z i belive does not.

Rodrick 12-03-2004 12:43 PM

gotcha:D

SHIFT_DRIFT 12-03-2004 11:31 PM

All the Mini Z's except the MZM (i think) have up to 3 adjustable wheelbases.

thanks you for corecting that. i wasnt too sure if that was right or not.

Rodrick 12-04-2004 03:07 AM

so will any mini-z body fit on the xmods chassis

SHIFT_DRIFT 12-04-2004 11:26 PM

Yes and no.
It'll fit, but it may need modification.
Just search around.

The Supra does fit a 6 cell. Shave the internals.

Rodrick 12-05-2004 01:21 AM

i shaved the inside on body but it still sit high in the rear

dragon4450 12-05-2004 02:25 AM

yah unfortunetly the supra is just too small of a body for it to fit properly.

Rodrick 12-05-2004 04:01 AM

so is the skyline and civic body bigger i seen a few bodies on ebay.i hate to sound so dumb but im still a lil new to mini rc's im used to the 1/10 scale

dragon4450 12-05-2004 05:18 AM

yes they are bigger. if you want to get a replacement body you can order one from radio shack and they only cost $9.99. all you have to do is eather go to the store or call the 800 number and tell them you want to do an rsu order. the bodies all come in the stock form with all parts needed for a full body but you will also need to order the front tab for the body. here are the numbers you will need.

yellow skyline 12414496
black skyline 12414496
body tab 12421202

blue civic 12414611
black civic 12414579
body tab 12421210

just pick the color and the right tab take the 2 numbers to rs and order a new body. it should only cost about $13 for the body and the tab.

I'm new here, too...i haven't even actually acquired my xmod yet, lol. It's sitting underneath the Christmas tree. I was wondering...will a 5 or 6-cell upgrade work with the new mustang bodies (either one of them..)? I really like the 04 cobra body kit that's available, now...but i can't seem to find any information on it when it comes to mods...

On a side note... atomicmods.com does say that their lithium bats will fit under the 65 mustang body...

Thanks for the help
Josh

I was going to get the lithiums but I read that they can catch on fire if overcharge and the cost of em is a lil more than I wanna spend for a car that i dont plan on racing.
