New odd car.

I found a new (to me at least) car the other day. I picked one up b/c it's on 35MHz. All it says on it is "super racing". It's smaller. Maybe a Bit clone? Tad shorter than a ZZ, fron wheeles are smaller, and it's got WFB more power then my ZZ's. I can't get more then 3" on the range, I thinks my batts are half dead (runs on AAx2).
It comes in a clear dome with the controller as the base. Same $ as the ZZ, same basic construction, way cooler body.

So......Where did you get it? Pics?

Yup, that's a bit clone. Now you can feel the power difference between a bit and a ZZ.

I have a similar clone, that comes with the same "bullet" container. It's fast, but the steering is really bad. Runtime seems a little short too.

$20 seems a little high for the clone. I have seen those $20 price tags in carts in the malls and at a grocery store. Ebay has them for around $10-$15 shipped.

here's a better pic

they have these in the malls by me also ,the guy selling them told me they are faster then the bit ,and built better ,,i just laughed

tuner00 10-14-2002 09:19 PM

funny!

Work quality on these things are very sloppy! not worth the $20 I paid for each. Just wanted the diff mhz though and I was able to fix the steering problem by fixing the magnet and also cleaning up the coils a little (sloppy work from factory).

Good motors though, better than the zip but I don't think better than the bit (i have the MicroSizers).

joeNuggetz 10-14-2002 09:38 PM

What kinda motor is in that thing? I got my best motor from one of those clones. Even the NOS cant touch my "bullet" motor. Thing cooks.

ts185r 10-14-2002 10:24 PM

I don't what motor it is. The package says microB 1.0 motor. I swaped motors with it; I think it's faster. We worked on our track tonight, so our cars wern't used. I will be able to compare to my girlfriend's car tomarrow.
Thanks usagi, I couldn't get the pics to show that way.
Anyways, now we have two threads on the same thing. Clones.

more mall mystery

My roommate got home yesterday and informed me of some knock-off cars he saw at a mall cart/kiosk. He said they were called "Tornado" racers or something like that. Apparently they come in different kits in various states of dissasembly and various accessories. They have 3 frequencies also. 27, 49, and a 35. I'm gonna go check em out today yet, and see what the motor or battery specs are to see if they would be of use!

I took the motor out of my brothers bensu bullet clone and that motor is better than any tomy motor i have. that plus the battery=a good deal...i would just throw the chassis away though.

I got a similar clone from Wall-Mart but wasn't very impressed (steerin really sucked) so I gave it to my daughter. Is pretty fast though.

mechanist 10-19-2002 12:42 PM

Geez. I was looking for a local place to buy a Bit the other day and the one shop that did have them was sold out. The sales man tried to pawn one of those things off on me for $30.
Glad I didn't even think about buying them...

hogjowlz 11-14-2002 01:23 PM

Mine is 45 Mhz. Fast and runs great. I like it a lot. Only cost me $17 shipped.

Hey Utah Mech Dude,
Check out Coachhouse gifts in Fashion Place mall. Clones went on sale today..$14.99. You need a 45 mhz right??? Lots of good bodies. I pulled one apart while standing at the front of the store, they look pretty good. I couldn't run it as the demo space is about 2 feet square.

Blue Bit 11-15-2002 02:29 PM

a lot of people will say anything to sell these clones , like they are better than zips/bits. (in quality ) some of them will even say that the clones are the most popular ones and what everyone buys. I've seen bit clones for $30.00+ I'ts just a bunch of marketing BS.

And here's the wal-mart motor works $13.88

Would you believe that I just picked up the Super Racing clone in NYC being sold on a street corner (50th and B'way).

Guy asked $10 for it, so I couldn't resist. Sloppy on the inside, but cool looking bodies. I think if that guy is there on Monday, I might try to pick up another 1 or 2 maybe 2/$15? good parts cars, but even the wheels are off center.

I'll try...I also saw these in a 'hood near where my father lives, on the street for 15...he laughed when I offered 10.
