x-mods vs. mini-z no reason for immature behavior, real comparison in this post
i own a hobby shop, and for all of u x-modders who cant talk about a mini-z without insulting it, and for all u mini-z guys who cant be mature enough to talk about an x-mod without insulting it need to grow up. the mini-z is by far a more superior car but the price shows it, the x-mod is by far a great car for the value, plus custom body options make it just that much more fun. i help people with things both for the mini-z and x-mods at my hobby shop and even have races for both so there is no reason for name calling or stupidity when talking about one or the other, x-modders u almost have to respect that x-mods wouldnt be around if it werent for mini-z's. and mini-z guys RS is just giving u a little more competition to push your products that much more, and by calling the body kits ways to make a grocery getter look even more stupid, kyosho doesnt have that option so why talk bad about something you cant get, and as far as that goes i have a 69 camaro 396, and a 94 mitsubishi eclipse, so i guess u cant really say u have to go cheap or expensive, hmm just a thought for pondering.
|
...
There isn't much worth in that post, it's stating that xmods have bodykits and miniz dont, and that xmods wouldn't be around if it weren't for miniz...where are you going with this??
|
uh...
is this going to start one of those wars again?
|
i think i established quite a bit in the thread, by simply saying there is no reason to fight over it, both are respectible forms of RC if you can't get that from this post then i think there was no reason to reply.
|
the fire has been ignited once again!
|
no mater how u put it will turn in to a war it does every time. the mini-z vs. xmods will never end!!!
|
...
All of your facts from the first post have been said in the past...and it's in the wrong branch of the forum...^_^
|
well im sure there are some members on this site who have no problem talking maturely about x-mods and mini-z, and it seems to me some of u who have replied so far start some of the controversy or like it when it happens because as i noted in my post i was talking maturely about it so my question is in a forum where the subject is supposed to mature, why say things like the fire is started again and its impossible to talk about it without fighting well lets see if your gonna reply like that then i wonder y its so hard, i mean come on r u that blind?

that is until blitz kreig hits the racing scene! |
you have mitusbishi eclipse 94 rc car?
do you have any pics because i own a talon/eclipse tsi/gsx 92-94 in real life.... |
no i have a 94 eclipse in real life, and the 69 camaro i dont have pics handy i was just mentioning it to set an example more than to brag
|
look the mini z and xmodsare comletely different. they are made 2 race or 2 show and race. Thats why mini z people dont race xmods they think they are slow and dumb(except for arch2b). so please dont compare them they are completely different rc cars. but i side with xmods
|
i have an xmod but i want a mini z since they are faster and handle better, there just an all around better car unless you like to play dress up
|
i dunno, minizs are my enemys (havent you noticed) i must say however i must admit that they are faster and higher quality, but the reign of the Z will burst into flames as we xmoders shall eventually own the race scenes
|
I see where CRAZYHECK was going with this but its true. Mini z's are pretty much in a diff. league. They are better quality, more expensive, and more like the "real" rc cars.......Xmods (my choice)
are going to be more popular in the long run due to its lower price and also to forums like this that help develope them into a major competitor with a mini z. The majority of people out there cannot afford a true Mini z and all the hop ups but they can with the xmods. That is the real driving force. I agree that we all shouldnt argue over which is best because BOTH have their strengths and weknesses. Just my 2 cents worth. |
Out of the box, I get more enjoyment out of my Mini-Z, but I think that with the right upgrades, the XMods will be less of a toy and more of a racing machine. Things seem to be in the works that will solve many of the weak points in the car, and I guarantee that if somebody makes the right upgrade parts and starts selling them (ie metal axle cups, etc) the big guys like GPM and others will begin to take notice. How could you ignore such a large and growing base of users?
|
that would be nice 2 have gpm make parts for xmods
|
whats their site/email i beleive an email is in order..

xmods vs mini-x
Another thing to ponder.........
I don't know about y'all, but the malls in my area don't have a Kyosho store. Also, I don't think I could go to kyosho.com and order a television or get a cell phone, and I wouldn't go to Radio Shack if I wanted to buy a world class 1\8 scale gas powered buggy........What I'm saying is; Radio Shack sells many different types of electronics, Kyosho lives and breathes RC. I think Radio Shack deserves a little tip-of-the-hat to be able to produce a car that can POTENTIALY compete with the mini-z. I don't own a mini-z, but I have owned other Kyosho RC cars and I know they produce a quality product. Some people are saying that the cars are in two different leagues. SHOULD they be in the same league?? I think Radio shack designed these cars to be a slightly cheaper, but still fun, alternative. Anyway, I guess my bottom line is; let mini-z's have the mini-z cup, and let xmods have the xmod cup. Throw the two classes together for an all-star cup and let the best driver win. Above all, JUST HAVE FUN RACING WITH YOUR FRIENDS! |
AMEN to that bro
|
Well said. I wish everyone felt that way.
|
Maybe the best thing about xmods...

My Xmod is faster than most Mini-Zs, and has 4 wheel drive, but Mini-zs are just made better. No doubt on that one. I use a mini-z body because they look better and are more durable than the xmod bodies.
I hope the popularity of xmods scares Kyosho into rethinking some of the mini-z design "features", like rear wheel drive only. If Kyosho made a AWD mini-z, with IRS, they would make alot of money. |

$50 for a base car isn't bad. If you really want to upgrade either an Xmod or a MiniZ you'd be replacing just about everything on them anyway correct?
Well, why not start with a cheaper base model car? :P $50 price tag also allows for many many more people to get involved in this hobby - thats a good thing for Xmodders, MiniZers, and the rest of the RC world since it encourages more aftermarket support for all cars, cheaper prices, and more options. There shouldn't be a debate between which is better, the only debate should be about what RS can do to improve quality and performance and what Kyosho should do about adding features and lowering prices. |

Here we go again   .... You guys just won't quit will you?? Geez! Not trying to start anything, but in my opinion I like XMods better. This is why: You just got $150. Whoopy. You now have two options: -Buy a Mini-Z (which is actually very nice car) and no upgrades -Buy an X-Mod and fully, or close to fully upgrade it. So, if you have a limited amount of $, then the Xmod would be the better choice. It offers most if not all of the features of, should I say, "higher quality" RC's. But, If you have 100's of dollars to spend, you'd probably be better off buying a MiniZ and just about every upgrade you want. I dream of the day that Xmodders and MiniZers will stop arguing. -Micro |

This section of the forum was created so that people could talk about these cars and enjoy them, learn how to upgrade them, etc etc. RadioShack didn't design these cars to be the fastest, they just wanted people to have fun, why is that something to be looked down upon? Tell me a GOOD reason why you should come here and insult these cars over and over. crazyheck even said not to be immature, just state some good, fair opinions. Yet, you ignore that and slander Xmods anyway. Let me ask you, how many times have you continuously insulted these cars? Tell me. All people have to do is go through your posts through your profile and see how many posts you've made that made fun of Xmods. It's as simple as that. You have almost NOTHING better to do than keep ranting on how these cars are inferior to Mini-Z's. People are sick of your crap and we don't want to deal with it anymore. Why did you even post in the Xmods forum? What is your purpose in insulting these cars? And then you may say something to mock their potential and say something like, "LOLOLOLOLOL! " Well, I'll say this once (and let me assure you that 95% of the people here got my back), SHUT UP ALREADY! Now, let's get back to the topic of this thread and don't act like RedRSX...he's just trolling to get people to dislike Xmods. Chuckster... |
on a different note, as i've discussed my views previously, i have cahtted with a few rc guys over in japan. i was curious to see what they thought of them being the home of almost every high grade rc.
this is the general opinion i perceived; xmods will not make it overseas for a few reasons... too expensive to import tamiya makes similar but better products xmods are seen as a sort of mutant mini-z/tamiya awd rc. i get the feeling they are nto impressed at all wit either the electronics, quality or features. i just thought it would be interesting to pass on the info. don't hol me resposible as these were just the impressions i got from the conversations. and before the negativity spues forth, consider the circumstances.... these opinions are coming from places where kyosho products are as easy to find as a 7/11 or rs. kyosho has become an ingrained hobby for whole family's there and there is no sign or worry about rs products. i even get the feeling they could care less about u.s. sales alltogether as they do just fine at home. given this, i don't think you will see asian aftermarket parts manufactueres racing to jump on the xmod wagon. to them it probably isn't even on the radar. they have world class rc companies on their own shores. sorry to post somewhat pesimistic news. if there are any japan xmoders here please post your thoughts as i'm sure there are disenting opinions there as well. anyway, you best bet is to encourage and support people like craftsman who are takign it upon themselves to produce aftermarket/superior parts. i think there is more potential for u.s. manufactuers to jump on the xmod wagon than asian ones. the development of the offical xmod racing series will only further the xmod craze and assure it's postition in the rc market. kyosho was smart to begin the cup races, rs is just as smart to do the same. i have an xmod as well as atleast one of each kind of mini-z and i look forward to racing all of them on my rcp track! i don't think it's really fair to mix the chassis's though unless your doing some sort of canonball run race where anything goes. inwhich case i would bring out my all alloy overland and cream everyone;) you can't win if you can't move.... |
Well, if you're an Xmodder, make friends with some MiniZers and vice-versa.
Also, if I had both Xmods and MiniZs, I would rather perform high-risk mods to the Xmod not only because of the price, but because replacement parts are just around the corner (well, Rshacks are low on stock, but...) |
when i think about it, i think of this being a imports vs. domestic battle. or rice rs. muscle. you have your japanesse cars (mini-z) with great handling, turbos, and quality (we all know how american cars fall apart). and the xmods are the muscle cars. with there 6 cell mods and 180 motors, but worse handling, with the fewer steps and large turn radius.
but any way, i think the xmods have the potencial to be way better than the mini-z. all they would have to do is either get a new servo, or make the current one streatch farther to cut down the turning radius. with this, all wheel drive, and the 6 cell mods about every xmod is equiped with it would toast the mini-z. its quality may not be as good, but for the racing the mini-z would be blown away. |

Wow, what happened in here? :o
RedRSX, the forum guidelines state "no personal attacks". Consider this a warning. xxspeednplayaxx, when you make grandiose claims about something, expect them to be challenged. charliebrown, there are already two moderators here, no need for a third. Just report the post if you have a problem with it. |
