Just get the Suspension and Steering Upgrade Kit

http://www.radioshack.com/images/Pro...0/l60-8505.jpg

It has everything you need. :)

There are 3 different types of springs, 3 different Tie Rod Arms (1.5, 3.0, 4.5 Degree Tow-In) and 1 set of metal shaft dampers

no no ive got the suspension up grade i want sumthin stiffer than blue and 1/2 yellow combined or no movement at all for the back

tavisjohn 01-03-2004 01:59 PM

If you want NO movement you could either glue the suspenstion in position, cut a small aluminum tube to the length you want and install it in place of a spring, or flatten both ends and drill holes through them and replace the suspenstion with the rigid tubes.
You could also try to duble up the springs, for example on one side use BOTH blue and yellow at the same time. Or you could cut a small aluminum tube that id the diameter of the spring but 1/2 the length and use it as a spacer with a spring at the same time.

I am sure there are other ways to do what you want without having to make a spring from scratch. :)

ok thanx

tavisjohn 01-03-2004 02:13 PM

No problem. (I have GOT to try some of these ideas out myself! )

For no movement at all you can wedge a dime in under the rear suspension knuckles. I don't like it that stiff, but it works.

xxspeednplayaxx 01-03-2004 08:08 PM

i stretched my springs to twice the lenght in the back and 1.5 times in the front... the only problem was that the wheels get pushed out of alignment (hard to explain, but its like they sit on an angle to the floor, rather than level) to fix this i put a peice of plastic to limit the movement of the knucles (screwed in where the shock peices are screwed in) so now its supper stiff

newbitowner 01-03-2004 08:10 PM

I stretched my springs for the rear almost so that it doesn't have any play at all.

thanx i didnt even thik about streching, will mini z springs fit?

xxspeednplayaxx 01-03-2004 09:08 PM

maybee, btw are you making a drage racer, cuz to me double sided tape tires plus non moving rear end = crazy hole shot traction

civic freak 01-03-2004 09:17 PM

yeah man, dude i love drag racing its an addiction ,my cars gonna be the most pimped out supra ever im on stage 3 of 16:D :D

xxspeednplayaxx 01-03-2004 09:22 PM

im on stage 1 of four each stage consists of numerous mods from apearance to handeling to speed to all out wild

Revlis 01-04-2004 05:59 AM

For a really stiff suspension you can wedge one of those little glowsticks on top of the springs and under the body mount in the rear. If you do this you will have the negative camber in the rear however.. which is less tire on the ground and less traction.

xxspeednplayaxx 01-04-2004 06:27 AM

hey revis, thats a good idea, when i had negative chamber angle i used a peice if olaastic screwed into the tops of the shocks to limit their travel so that at resting they sit at a 0 degree angle

Bad Company 01-04-2004 07:50 AM

I made my own custom dual rate springs. They actually work pretty well too. I'm going to experiment more with the different types.

Dual Rate Springs

lemans23 01-04-2004 12:33 PM

hey man. if u want to drift like a king, here is what u do. for me it is easy cause i have a good stock of it for my nitro cars. but anyway, for me to lower my nitro rustler for better cornering, i stick a piece of fuel tubing around the shaft. this cuts off movement and lowers the car. since these cars dont work like that, what u need to do is take a little shim like piece of fuel tubing (very thin) and put it under and or above the spring. this compresses the spring and makes it stiffer. this is incredible for throwing the back end out. go and try it, you won't be disappointed.

civic freak 01-04-2004 12:33 PM

thanx bad company im gonna try that those springs are wicked!:D

Revlis 01-04-2004 07:37 PM

Oh, another way to get zero travel is take the springs out and mount a bar from one top mount to the other.

is that what you were talking about xxspeednplayaxx?
