Fwahhhahahahaha! Cool. Looks very similar to a micro. Especially with its wheels on and a body to cover the "real truth". :D

slotsurfer 04-23-2002 11:20 PM

The real truth is BRP SC18 pan car beats the micros all the time in the races in Ohio.Plus you can get the big block speed 300 motor and it way too fast.:D

Mykroe 04-24-2002 05:00 PM

NOOOOO!!!! Micro All the way!!!!!!

Hardtrukr 04-24-2002 06:11 PM

Sorry Mykroe, but I've tried my brothers micro, and to tell you the truth it is like a mop on carpet and wood floors compared to the Mini-Z and well, the slow Bit Char-G. It is fun though, I do like it! :D

Mykroe 04-24-2002 06:42 PM

Everyone here obviously hasn't experienced the full capabilities of the Micro RS4. These cars have an endless hop up capabilities! The best place to learn is no doubt yourmicro.com!!!!

tinyrc 04-24-2002 07:50 PM

I would have to agree with Mykroe on all counts. But slotsurfer is also correct, the SC18 will beat an equally-equipped Micro, just because of the pure physics.

Mykroe 04-24-2002 08:54 PM

I am not gonna disagree with that one tinyrc! :D

BRP SC-18

Check out my web site for tips and pic's.....My stock SC-18 will out run a stock Micro. My friend down the street has a mod micro (about $740), he beat me untill I put in the BigBlock with the BRP rear pod conversion kit. Now he is looking for a faster motor!

BudBartos 04-27-2002 07:16 PM

Mykroe>> Check out the latest Car Action! You could have a fleet of BRP cars for what some have put into there Micros. We have yet to come across any micro that has beat out cars and that includes those with 6 cell and mod motors, and other hop up parts. Just For your info You can get a BRP SC18 for $79.95, $69.99 at Tower hobbies, Ball diff is $20.00 and a 6 cell battery $26.00 your radio and your ready to go.
Well anyhow we have a great group of racers up this way and we have a blast with the 1/18th cars.
Also we have 14 different body styles that will work on the long Micro with the wheels all the way out.
Peace
:)

BudBartos 04-27-2002 07:19 PM

Micro Racer>> Good to see you here! Did you go to DA TRACK and do any testing??

Mykroe 05-11-2002 09:02 AM

BudBartos>>I can get a Micro kit for $75, A ball dif for $10, and convert my car to six loose cells for $.99! I really can get all those prices but anyways I have that RCCA issue and did they test the SC18 with 6 cells and a stock motor? I won't argue that the car is fast and has a great setup.....And is cheap. You know...I just had a thought...If the micro had LESS parts than it would be cheaper to hop up like the SC18! LOL...I have nothing against your BRP cars and their quality....I was thinking about getting one for a second whem I remembered that my micro is where my money is devoted to! lol...

MicroRCEngineering 05-13-2002 01:25 PM

two different classes. 4wd nd 2wd. so, it's a matter of preference. 2wd for more top end, 4wd for drifting. I like both cars.

BudBartos 05-18-2002 07:01 PM

Mykroe >>> Good for you!!!

Well, to be honest, I own both cars. The Micro is a great car, but you have to learn how to maintain and set it up properly. Otherwise, it won't perform well. The car is VERY sensitive to the setup. One bad choice in the selection of parts and the whole package won't perform.

The BRP SC18 handles really well out of the box! The only time I needed to upgrade to the Orion BB motor was when the competition (Micro RS4 racers) started using Orion Elite motors! Other than that, I used the stock motor against them ever since! GPM High Torque motors, Orion Mods... none of them could keep up.

To this day, the only thing I've broken on the car was the ball diff. I hit (at full speed) a track barrier at a bad angle and it bent. I tried to bend it back and I accidentally snapped it! I just installed a new diff and it was back to racing.

Sure, the Micro has endless Hop Ups to choose from... But, that's because it needs it. The SC18 doesn't. From an economic point of view, the SC18 is a great deal that the Micro just can't touch!

More HP to BRP! Way to go Bud!

PorscheGuy964 10-01-2002 01:54 PM

Ok my bro got a Mrs4, and some of you may know I just don't like AWD, so this looks like its the option....

can you fit anyother body besides the BRP specific ones?

The american bodies are sure ugly....

SC-18 Bodies

Yes you can fit Micro RS4 bodies on the SC-18, just know that the Micro body is not as wide as the SC-18. I have the BRP HPI tire adapters on my SC-18.

PorscheGuy964 10-01-2002 02:57 PM

hmm that looks cool,

Do you have a picture of your chassis like close up?

Also are all MRS4 bodies the samd width? Or are there wider ones that acomidate the BRP?

The Civic is the narrowest body I think. Other bodies like the Stratus are not as narrow. It will take some creative trimming around the wheel’s to fit the SC-18. I have tried the Parma 1/18 bodies and the truck’s fit nicely.

Micro_Racer 10-02-2002 05:50 AM

Bodies....Sorry Not Parma...PROLINE

Real KEWL! That's a real race car! Great job on the paint scheme. What brand is the body? That's something I would like to use on my BRP.

PorscheGuy964 10-02-2002 04:16 PM

wow those bodies are nice.....

who said the BRP lacks elegance.... lol
