xmods are just toys
 

having almost tried every car in these forums i dont understand why xmods are so popular they have to be the worst car that scale they simply cant turn i have a micro rs4 that would can out turn it easily that just isnt right and 1/10 buggy does also

I can give you some reasons:
1. Not everyone can afford a Micro RS4, or other higer end RC cars
2. XMods are a hell of a lot easier to work on then some of the bigger name ones
3. These were geared towards the young teen (13 & up) so they could get into it for lower cost.
4. They never stated these were high end cars, i mean so yours can turn better so what? with the right tuning the XMod can be just as nice for half the cash.
Thats just some reasons i see....you may not agree but hey i don;t care...if you don't like them then don't post in this part of the forum. Simple...eh?

you can't compare the xmod to an rs4:o :rolleyes:

we can compare them if we want. it may not be right but we can. and not to mention there are a lot of teenagers on this site that dont have $200+ to spend on a high end rc. and tell us all about what you have in your XMOD. if you dont have any upgrades the car is gonna have a horrible turning radius.

I know, I cant even afford all the upgrades radioshack offers.

Be easy on the X-Mods. Im a 35 yr old and I think there great. Bigger than the zip-zaps and smaller than the big boys. They have got a good starting price and great mods that can be done to them. As of right now if a person were to get all the extras that "RS" has, it runs right around $250.00. Thats not to bad if ya ask me. Everyone take care and have fun with these little monsters...:D

RS4 is a toy too
 

Just an expensive one. A T-Maxx is a toy, an X-box is a toy....all of these are expensive items. Cost doesn't justify if something is a toy or not.

Tell me something I didn't already know. Turn your brain on....they're all toys, no matter how serious you are about the hobby or how much or how little money you've sunk into your RC. I like toys :D

I drive one of my toys to work everyday and every RC is a toy, some just cost more and yes some are much better than others but that isnt always reflected in the price.

Me too.....

Pev942 is just threatened by the potential of XMODS...while he is 46 years old and still lives in his parents basement, tuning his overpriced RS4...all of us are actually having fun with others becasue everyone can afford an XMOD. BTW Pev942 let me put a NML motor in my Xmod and it would make your RS4 look just silly:D

i personal love xmods

Becuase I can't do donuts on my kitchen floor with my Nitro TC3.

Becuase I don't need 5 tons of support equipment to run one.

Becuase they are the perfect size.

Because they run forever on a charge.

Because... For $50 why not?:D

because i have mabey $125 in my x-mod and its as fun as my nitro with over ($450 in it.)car has ever been

LOL...I have a Micro RS4 and many other nitro cars and the xmod is getting more play time than them. Its a blast to mess with inside where believe it or not the Micro is almost too big and fast. You can tinker with them without fear of messing up a 200dollar+ toy.

if you gonna compare a 50 dollor xmod vs a 250 dollor rs4, put it this way. 50 dollors is 1/5 of 250 dollors. so the xmod cost 1/5 as much as a rs4. but is the xmods 4/5 lesser than a rx4? i certainly do not think so.

i love my xmods.

cuz my stupid nitro breaks every other second, and my xmod is funner to play with. can drive it inside, paint it customize it. dont go through tires every week, dont need 22 doller fuel, dont break pullstarts every other day, and i can drive em in my track.

Yeah, an x-mod is a toy, I have a $1900 PC I built and modified myself, and that's a toy.

I have a 92 mustang LX, and that's my big toy :D

The x-mod, my little toy, cause track time is big bucks :(

Numerous other toys too.

Basically if it's something you use for recreational purpose, it's a toy. I can go into very messed up examples, but I shall refrain.


Either way, I found my x-mod had a rather decent turning radius, good design, maybe a bit low on the power but that can be fixed :)

Basically, speed costs money, so if you can't afford an RS4 or a mini-z, this is the low-cost alternative. It's like buying a used SVO mustang instead of a 5.0 GT, just think of it that way.

5 of my friends have bought an xmod in the last week, we are all getting together on t-giving to race on the tennis courts down the road. the xmod is just too cool, i play or tinker w/ it everyday. be good to your xmod, take it to the local tennis court and wind it out...you'll fall in love.

Hahaha. You are one hell of an ignorant person. Lets compare a $250+ 1/18 hobby class RC against a $50 1/28 radio shack RC car, and say that "xmods suck, because they are almost as good as my RS4, but not quite." Bang for the buck, I think these things are lots of fun, and VERY easily accesible. I don't have an LHS for 50+ miles, yet I have a radio shack within 15 miles of any direction I go from my house.

and as for "how fast your $400 RS4" is, ill blow you away with my $150 MiG-15 EDF plane.........top speed around 85-90MPH

i just got my xmod about 2 weeks ago, and it's great!i bought a mini-z about 9 months ago, and getting parts here is ridiculously hard.all of my friends wanted one, but they couldn't afford to fork out $150 on a toy car.but, they can afford these, and that means that the track in my basement will actually get some races in on it!

i hate threads like this ... they really are pointless ... and im not going to diss anyone here cuz THAT would be hipocracy ... this thread needs a schlage (if u dont kno .... thats a lock:p)

I share the same story. I live on an army post in Kuwait now and its hard for me to get parts as well. I bought an mr-02 and I love it. I couldn't talk a friend into it, but once he saw an ad in Stuff for the x-mods and found out how cheap they were, he went for it. I also bought an x-mod for myself so I can let someone new race the mini-z against the x-mod (handicap, heh). I think the mini-z crowd has some respect for these cars because of their decent performance, price, and original design (unlike Heipo and LXX).

Toys = r0x.

toys or hobbies these things are friggin cool. when you get a working one.

xmods are one of the best things to hit the market especially for the car lover and the rc lover if ur a teen like me i really want a import but im broke so i got a civic, its just like having the real thing but smaller and cheaper (and u can break it and insurance wont screw u over)
