As far as batteries go, I think just about any kind will work fine, I suggest a set of Energizer rechargables, they've never done me wrong. Just anything but plain old Alkaline batteries should work out just fine for you. If you want to be really set, get a set of Energizers and their charger, because their charging base will handle both AAA's and 9V's (not at the same time though..I'm sure you knew that.) That way you wont have to worry about either power sources for quite some time.

i like the xmods one.

Micro S2000 11-04-2003 08:13 PM

the energizers are significantly better than the xmods batteries. i like the charging time of the xmods charger, i use energizers with the xmods charger

guce 11-04-2003 08:14 PM

batteries do make a difference in the performance of the car. any rechargeable batteries are the best. the best ones we have found are the rayovak rechargables. they have 800mAh's which produces a lil bit more power and lasts longer than the xmods rechargables(which are 700mAh). ive always been an energizer fan so i have them which are 750mAh. we have tested all three with the same mods and on different surfaces fully charged.

lol.........you people think the xmod batteries are good? mine are pretty crappy.....................they are so ghetto and BARELY run better than alkanines.........guess I gotta fork over another 13 dollars for energizers :(

aero528 11-04-2003 08:28 PM

i will prob. get energizer. i am going to use the recharger for my digital camera bats.(AA's, 9v's, and AAA's) how many bats do you get for $13???

YeLLoW GT-R R34 11-04-2003 08:47 PM

well.........i think 4 rechargable 750 mah AAA batteries...........but I don't know how much it will cost for you

Were did you buy the energizer rechargables? And how much were they??

Rotary Freak 11-04-2003 09:10 PM

Thats a good question, I don't remember. If this helps..I got the recharger (which was about 10 dollars plus tax), and two sets of AAA's, it cost about 30 dollars overall I think, and I got it all from Target. So I hope thats helpful..

Alright thanks. I am gonna head out to Target sometime this week. If they dont have them then I will just get the rechargable batteries from radioshack.

Murcielago659 11-04-2003 10:47 PM

The radio shack set is a great deal. You get 8 Ni-MH batteries and a delta peak charger for $25. Just 4 batteries from Radio Shack are $19.99. The set is like getting the charger for $5 and 4 batteries for free.

crusader4x 11-05-2003 01:34 AM

If you have a Fry's in the area, you all might want to check out the NoMemPro NiMH's. I got 4 AA's (not AAA's) for about $5.00. I'm gonna check on the price of AAA's there soon.
To charge them, I just use either the Rayovac 1hr charger that I have or my MRC Super Brain 959.

dragon4450 11-05-2003 03:46 AM

super brain:cool:

i really like the radioshack pack its a really good deal.

viperkilla 11-05-2003 02:31 PM

How long do the rechargable batteries take to charge?

Murcielago659 11-05-2003 02:34 PM

With the RS charger, 2 hours the first time, then 45 minutes to an hour after that.

dragon4450 11-05-2003 02:34 PM

about 45 mins from a dead cell. but you get about 30 mins of play time.

guce 11-07-2003 12:05 PM

i spent too much money on the batts but they work well and i already got my money's worth. i paid $60 and i got them at best buy. 1 hour charger and two packs of AAA's(4 in a pack), and the charger came with 4 AA's that i use in my digital camera.

viperkilla 11-07-2003 05:10 PM

When you charge the XMODS rechargable batteries are they supposed to be hot? When I touched mine they were hot.

Look at the "Rayovac i-c3" thread. They are by far the best. Plus they charge in 15 minutes, that is no joke and lasted me with my stage 2, about an hour of strong run time.

:) REALLY??!! Where do you get those? How much do you think they will cost?

kasper01001 11-09-2003 05:35 PM

I've seen some at Target and Home Depot.

kasper01001 11-10-2003 12:22 AM

YeLLoW GT-R R34 11-10-2003 08:40 PM

.I got some at first for 14.99 from Walgreens. They are in the charger right now.......hoping for good results :D . They are 800 mah and they come in packs of 4.

Bash_N_Thrash 02-26-2004 07:01 PM

crusader4x,
How do you use the MRC Super Brain 959 to recharge AAA's? I have the same charger and was going to try it out. My thought was to use a 4 cell AAA holder and just clip the charger to tabs. My question is what setting to try? What do you use?

newbitowner 02-26-2004 07:29 PM

Walmart sells I-C3's cheap.
