Super Bit Char-G

I just wanted to know if these new Super Bit Char-G's are any good, i saw them on a UK site and they looked pretty cool, the bodies are represented way better to cale, but i just wanted to know if anyone has bought one

If you do a search of this site, you will find lots of people that have had problems with them. I don't think the problems are big enough to stay clear of them, but just buyer beware type of stuff.

Another alternative may be to buy some pullbacks. I have seen a few of the superbit bodies sold with the pullbacks, and you also get the grippy tires for less than $6 US. (before shipping) Pretty good deal.

zeronineUK 10-15-2003 11:51 AM

They are good even if they are way over-priced in the UK. I like the way that the rear wheels are the same size as the front. That could have an affect on how real they look.

The one problem I've had with mine is that if you're accelerating when it goes out of range, it just keeps on going on it's own! So if you're on a raised surface and it goes over the edge...

The aerial on the controller is also very irritating. It is a solid one that you push down to hide away. That's good but it's not bendy like the original Bits. I managed to break it within a day of getting it!

Overall, I would stick with the normal Bits. You can buy the Super Bit bodies in pullback and the rear wheels aren't that bad. Plus when it goes out of range it stops! :)

Anyone know where i can get the Lamborghini Murcielago Pullback?? I saw it on The Super Bitchar-g site...?

zeronineUK 10-16-2003 03:41 PM

(I may be wrong) but it don't think the Murcielago's are out yet. I know there were all those magazine scans of all these new cars including the murcielago but it doesn't seem to have come through yet...

Kinda dissapointing as that was the most-wanted one! Well, maybe it'll come out some time soon...

new controllers on Super Bits

Hey all. New to the board, first post actually. Have had a few bits for a while, just got my first Super Bits (Lambo set). Was wondering about the extra buttons on the top of the controller. Are these boost buttons? Why 2 different ones? anyone know? It doesn't seem like the super bits have boost, so the buttons seem useless.

Guys, should we start stocking the Super Bits and/or Bodies? Let us know! :)

I'm actually more interested in 2 speed cars myself(I have been wanting to purchase LXX boosters too). I would have probably already ordered a 2 speed mosfet if they were available.

But being able to buy the super bit bodies would be great.

barto_85 10-28-2003 05:55 AM

I love the Super bit char-g. I bought the ferrari special set thingy and I'm very happy with it. I wrote a short review:

For those that dont know, it is 40 mhz B.

It doesn't seem to have that command hold everyone is talking about, it seems to respond from right to left immediately.

It has a much larger range than my 27mhz Compact Char g does which has the crip cap removed. It reaches about 5-6metres.

The handling seems to be better than my Compact, however, havn't tried it with anything in it but the standard 1.6

The lower chassis look great, compared to the old one.

Any Questions let me know and i'll try it and let you know.

I agree with Barto

Hey guys,
I haven't been on here in months, but I just got two super bit sets and they are great. They are very smooth running and the detail of the bodies are exceptional. Typical in tomy bits. I like the new controller design and the cars seem very responsive. The rear wheels are smaller, just slightly larger than the front and do give it a more scaled look, but clearance is not as good as the old bits, so be sure you're on a decent track or fairly smooth surface. Most carpet may give you problems. I run a 8'X 4' track and it had no problems at all. I do the guitar string antenna mod to all of my cars, but I'm not sure I'll need to with these. The range does seem pretty good. I'm not a big fan of clones, so I don't know if the perfection's or LXX will hold up to these. I've tried many different clones, call me spoiled, but Tomy's (Bits, Super bits, MS Pro) and ZipZaps are my fav's and I just can't stand running any thing else. I got the Ferrari Set for $30.00 (not including shipping), it also included some extras (3.0 motor and decal sheet), which for the quality of the Tomy's, I think it's great. I don't mind spending the $20 to $30 a car when the quality is this good. Just my opinion though.

Thought I'd update my profile so you can see the list of my cars.

jono123 11-24-2003 06:54 PM

o and one other thing du the extra buttons on the top of the controller du anything yet? because my other super bits du nothing.
ooooooooooppppps my bad , one more it says they are limited edition, does this mean they are limited like the disney bits or like the auto modelista bits?
thx very much

cool_cars 11-25-2003 10:18 AM

They're great!

Jono,
I think they're great. The smaller rear wheels really give a scaled look, almost like a slot car. I had also bought a Lambroghini, not the set, but a different one. Both are fantastic. The body's are detailed nicely. That's one thing I really like about Tomy's and Zips. They have the best bodies. Even MS don't look as good and those are Tomy US release. The top buttons don't do anything with this car. I think they're trying to come up with a standardized controller. I'm hoping they start releasing chasis kits, that may use the buttons later, like a booster chasis or something. That way, with one controller, you can could have three different cars to use with it due to the ABC channel switch on the back, kinda like the 6 channels on the Zip SE's. Over all, I like the new controller design alot. The range seems good too. The chassis is cool too. It's redesigned a bit (no pun intended), but I found the car tracked nicely, seems really smooth. I didn't even have to touch the steering adjustment. I think you'll like lit. I don't know if it's really a limited edition or not. If it is, then I'm glad I got one, but even if not, I'm still glad I got it. Let me know what you think. Later

Hello friends,
after almost a year away from my favorite sport (bits) I returned at last. :D

I have two questions because I missed a few things around.

1. Does anyone know if the chassis included in the Super Bit Char-G sets (Enzo Ferrari and Limited Ferrari Set) are the same?

2. And also has anyone any experiance with the Super Perfection sets (Phantom Lamborghini/Ferrari)?
Are they good?

strakka 11-27-2003 07:48 PM

1. yes
2. no, havent tried them out... but look good for the price... and if they suck... well you get lots of free upgrades...
