Aluminum Wheels!
 

Woah! TiniRC! Could you get some of these aluminum wheels from here?! http://www.bitchar-g.de/ They look awesome, when they come out! And they are in different widths!

Can you see anywhere where it says who makes them? I noticed also that it says "However the body has to be adjusted to these broad rims. Therefore only for real pro's...".

mmmmm.... no I didn't. let me send an e-mail to them! :D

I just e-mailed them, and in german (thanks to Babelfish) so I should get an e-mail back! And I told them it was for bussiness too. :)

Those rims are definatly cool, I want them all, but I'm sure it would be only for show as it would weigh the car down since its sooo small, but if you haev a booster car I'm sure it would help....

yeah thats what i was thinking.. wider and heavier wheels for my booster machine. i just tried out my evo 7 with 1.0 and its damn quick!:eek:

I'm curious to see whether or not the wider rims will impede on the bits ability to turn sharply. Remember the bit has a solid rear axel with no diff, there fore the inside wheel, when turning, won't be able to spin at a slower rate then the out side wheel in turn causing under steer. Since the wider rims make more traction available.

BUT!, there is more traction in the front too!

tsk tsk tsk, you fail to see my point, even with the wider front wheel that will make "high speed" turning harder. Harder in that the inside wheel will "bump and skip" causing you to have slower cornering capabilities dispite the fact you have "some more traction in the front too"......

yeah, like the Mini-Z, too tight of a differential makes harder turning. but with a little extra traction and weight at both ends you get better handiling abilities (compared to platic front and aluminum rear wheels). :)

hmm... I wonder if my 3.0 with boost will spin out when turning with these hella wide rims..:eek:

I got those rims about 3 months ago... they are very cool...but I can't get my original rims off to use them.... and they are hard to get onto the axles

how did you get them? i emailed them myself and they didn't respond. tinyrc also didn't get them:(

I had a friend in germany pick me up 6 sets about 2 months ago- nice product, but no instructions were included- definitely a *pro* mod. The turning radius is much bigger, and the wheel wells on most cars need massive resizing in the front. The wheels are a machined product, turned on a lathe or somilar, and have very little detailing. included is a photoetched hubcap/spokes part for each wheel that looks quite nice as they use partial etching to add details like bolts, etc.

A few things I do not like:
The photoetched parts do not match some of the colors shown.
the Hubcaps are much deeper recessed into the wheel, causing them to be almost unnoticeable except from a nearly-side-on view.
No rear axle or front pins are included. Thus you must file down either or make them anew.
The tire is much too wide. as it is, bit char-g tires are around large truck size if they're 1/64 scale. These are much smaller in diameter, but the wideness makes them almost double tires.
A mod I am currently attempting is to make one set original (or less) width to allow for a more scale appearance.

For sure, If you're competent with tools such as files, needle-nose pliers, and craft saws, you should be fine, but they are NOT something you want to be unsure about since their installation requires covering the front wheel pins with a hub that is glued in... very delicate process to remove if you had to.

and I haven't put them on yet... can't get the original wheels off the car :)... I did manage to get one off but the aluminum wheel doesn't just "fit" onto the axle.....so I don't know if it's going to be an easy mod.... definately a "pro" mod... and I've been building RCcars for 20 years

use needlenose pliers to pull the front steering pins out.
remove the wheels from the rear axle as well as the gear.
once you're done, file off the ridges on the pins and the rear axle.
push the wheels onto the front pins, reseat them using glue to hold the pins in as they dont stay on their own now.
push the wheels onto the rear axle abd glue the gear to the wheel it should be next to. test fitting is necessary to get the spacing correct.
superglue the hubcaps along their edge with a few dots of glue doen into the wheels ABOVE the pins and axle protrusions.

That should get you up and running.
