i found the ultimate motor and gear lubricant!
i got a messed-up BCG 3.8 motor and i was just going to throw it away, but the people who responded to my thread suggested using a lubricant. well i found some silicone lubricant and used it and the motor and gears ran faster than they did right out of the box. now my motor works like a 4.2. it has crazy torque, the wheels spin from a standing start about 20 times! im glad i used it. now i am faster than ever!
anyone wanna know what kind it is?
Sure, what kind is it?
what kind is it
Where u get it
What kind is it?
hmm any hardware store will sell silicone spray. its cheap and good lube. i aint ever used it on a bit tho.
lubricants
I found that the machine oil for hair clippers works wonders. It comes in a real small tube, so you can control how much you put on....
i saw this lube at radioshack, itr seemed like it would be pretty good for bits. It said it was made for high rpm, small devices, and that it would not attract dust or hairs. It came in a liuttle syringe with a needle. I would get it, but it costs like 10 bux for 5ml.
HaHa I have some of that lubricant from radio shack but I havent even used it yet.I just dont run my cars as much as I should I guess.
Haha why don't you try it out and tell us how it works.
ok, i was sleeping, like all day today. the kind is Prestone silicone high viscosity(what the hell makes it so different from others?) lubricant. this stuff increased my top speed by 1.75 mph! seriously, just spray it on the axle, gears and motor and run it for 15 seconds and you will notice an immediate difference in performance!
does it attract dirt and dust?
not a single one! i even ran it on carpet:not a hair on there!
I was one of the people that told you to try loob. I told you that was a fast motor.
I would save it for racing. Also, if it's not made for a pro (booster) bit, then don't use it in one. My booster cars sometimes kills a regular motor because of the voltage pulsing when unboosted (1st. gear?). I'm glad to hear it worked and you have a fast motor. I'm envious. |
yeah, i measured the distance and on the stock single cell it pumps out 6.8 mph! pretty fast for a single cell, huh? ill post pics tomorrow. thanx for the tip, man.
i seriously doubt any single celled car will achieve 6.8mph unless you pick it up and throw it.
as far as using machine oil, i wouldnt use it if you like your car. ive made that mistake and it attracts hair like you wouldnt believe. |
well, the speed was maybe a little exaggerated but it goes 5 feet in 2.5 seconds. and ever since using it, ive only found one hair.
5 feet in 2.5 seconds is 1.36 mph.
((5 ft / 2.5 s) * 3600 s/hr ) * 1/5280 mile/feet = 1.36 mile/hr , no where near the 6.8 mph u were claiming although it probably does feel that way |
haha
