Dual Motor Mod & other General Questions

I have 4 questions:

1. How do you do a dual motor swap?

2. How do you do a dual cell swap?

3. Does anyone know where I can get domestic bdies for Bits?

4. Can you swap LXX wheels onto a Bit?

I have recently wanted a little more power, and my LXX's DKS 3.4 doesn't cut it. Has anyone had experience with Bit Mod 1's 3.5?

Actually, the first question is NOT on QFM, I have a tutorial pic right here:

omg... that's pure intensity...... CRAZY mod....

prolly not as hard as some of the stretching and 2 cell internals that people do, but whoa... pretty nuts if u ask me...

xatu 04-05-2003 11:43 AM

Yea, it would be pretty nuts, but it would work the best with a dual cell. It would have crazy torque.

viperdout 04-05-2003 01:13 PM

What d'ya think about the dual motor with the Bit Mod 3.5? I hear it's really torquey. Also, do the motors have to be at the same RPM?

BillyP 04-05-2003 01:57 PM

That is the coolest mod I've ever seen!

Half the run time, double the torque, sounds great! The gears would lock if the motors aren't the same.

viperdout 04-05-2003 02:13 PM

Ya think the torquey 3.5s would be enough to pull wheelies?

And does anyone have domestic bodies?

xatu 04-05-2003 02:42 PM

I'm not too sure about that one... If you put some weight in the back end then you would probably be able to do them no problem. With a dual cell, and dual 1.0 motors, for sure you would be able to do wheelies.

I'm also thinking about a CO2 Rocket. I built a car that weighs at least 3x my LXX, & It'll do over 60 mph! LXX + CO2 rocket. Hmmm...

 :D

It's a nice day to fly!

xatu 04-05-2003 05:13 PM

Are you crazy? That would blow the car to hell and back! But that sure would be cool :D

viperdout 04-05-2003 05:31 PM

Actually, some fishing line ould hold it down (usually on the bottom, but I'd put it on the top) & the quarters would make sparks!

I also just ordered a tomy NSX, and 2 3.5 motors from bitmod1.com, so the dual engine project's a go! :D I'm hopin' for some mind-boggling torque with a single cell (I don't wanna modify my charger). Wish me luck!

xatu 04-05-2003 06:51 PM

Good luck! And, you don't have to modify your controller at all! Just make a stand alone charger. I made one, with pieces from an old controller.

I just did it on a clone! It's pretty bad-looking, but it hauls!

xatu 04-05-2003 08:11 PM

Cool! Does it have more speed, torque (that stupid word takes me like 5 seconds to type), and did you do it by the tutorial?

X13 04-06-2003 06:16 AM

Hehe that dual motor looks AWSOME :D

It wouldnt stay charged for as long would it??

I think you should do that c02 thing (with a cheap clone) in a drag race :D !

viperdout 04-06-2003 10:06 AM

I sorta followed the tutorial, except I did it with tape and copper wire to see if it'd work. The car has A LOT of torque. the body won't fit back on, but if you were using a body with a hole in back, it would take some trimming. I also had to trim the chassis a little bit with a swiss army knife (I reccomend flattening what you want to cut out with needle-nosed pliers, so the job is easier), and the best part is, if for some reason you can only use 1 motor, it's easy to change back, unless you don't have any Heat Sinks
