SO I WAS RIGHT

as i said NOS is a trademark brand by Holley Stupid kids that dont know anything about cars go around and are like "im using NOS in my crx blah blah blah" and they say that because of the FAST AND THE FURIOUS also its like the whole Kleenex issue NOS is like kleenex which is a trademark brand its actually supposed to be called facial tissue but everyone calls it Kleenex which is sad because it gives smaller businesses a disadvantage..... people can use NOS but they should call it nitrous unless they are speaking of a specific brand like ZEX or NOS but please if your not talking about a specific brand call it nitrous I hope this clears things up

English police

I thought I was @nal about the english language.
Dude... chill...
I realize that a number of items have become known by their brand rather than what they are:
Band-Aids = Bandages
Jello = gelatin
Xerox = photocopy
and so on...
the important thing to remember is that people understand what's being talked about. Unless you represent Holley and are defending their trademark, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

dvious1 08-06-2002 09:45 AM

NOS = Nitrous same difference. lol

why dont we just say that your "squeezing"

btw.........after reading this thread, i was laughing so hard that my belly started to jiggle like "Jello" and i started to cry so i needed a "kleenex". as i reached for it, i bumped my knee on the table, so now i need a "Band-Aid". anyways, im going to "Zerox" this thread and use "Scotch" tape to hang it on my wall.

:D

blacksabbath070 08-06-2002 08:51 PM

good point

hahahh thats great i understand all of your points hahhah im such a wierdo sometimes anyway today when I went to make a xerox copy of my middle finger for all the walmart people who treat me like crap (buts thats a different story) i happened to slip and fall face first into a jello display i then left to get a bandaid and..... ok i get what you mean :D

Zagatto 08-06-2002 08:57 PM

Just a follow up to this apparantly dead thread.
Xerox spent a lot of money in their advertising to seperate their name from the photocopier so they wouldn't have as much trouble branching into other products and to make it easier to defend their trademarked name.

On the other hand there's Zamboni... I'm not sure what you call the actual vehicle/ice clearing machine... but that's another trademark that people use all the time without even thinking there might be other brands.

I'm done with this topic now... I gotta get some NOS (Nights Of Sleep)...

how does it work anyway? Does the COČ just give a boost cause its gushing from the back like a rocket?

lol, after the fast and the furiouss came out, i see a whole bunch of wrongly tuned cars in my neighborhood, there are only a few that tune em right. I can tell cause all of the ones that tune them wrong remove the Honda logo on the front of their car cause in the movie they dont use them on their car, the only prob with that is that when they remove the logo, there is either a big hole where they removed and the paint is faded in the area on their hood, or they removed the logo from the grill and it looks like a deformed grill. lol:p I dont think that they are aware that there are other nitrous brands besides NOS:rolleyes:

Neon_Skylineboy 08-14-2002 08:25 PM

whoever started this thread should be slapped, i spent so much time reading this load of crap i forgot who started it...

DrkRAM 08-19-2002 11:44 PM

Indeed crap...

And there is no way that a toothpick is going to puncture and CO2 cartridge!! Please, if that was the case they would be going off all over the place...

The entire thing is a load of crud!

nitrous oxide N2O is injected into the engine where the combustion happens. The increase of N2O gives the engine extra fuel for combustion. more combustion(explosion) gives you more power. thats basically it. I don't really know that much about engines. I know there's 2 types of N2O kits. Wet and dry. the wet ones can only be used during wide open throttle which is better for your car. I think the wet goes in with the fuel or something like that...can't remember:o

I think thats how it works. The CO2 air gushes out causing extra thrust. Also, to the person who wrote before. You get air flowing out by stabbing anything to the tip of the tank. If anything touches that, air begins flow out. I dont think the writer meant that he stabbed the toothpick into the middle of the tank causing air to rush out from the side. lol. Either way, the thread is probably bogus.

One more thing-

Does anyone know where to get those metal alloy rims for a bit char-g and those alloy exhaust pipes?

_NiTrOuS_ 08-20-2002 07:13 PM

NO, NOT THAT!

I already know how NOČ works for real car engines, but i was wondering how COČ on a bit char-g works. never mind, the explination that skylinebeond gave works for me. (its NOČ, not N2O):D

Uh, nooooo.... The small CO2 cartridges are sealed shut. There is NO valve on them. You need to peirce the end to allow the gas to escape the cartridge, and you'll need a good deal of force to begin with. Once you do it the cartridge is useless.

Or you can use the 12oz cansiters that are used on paintball guns, but they are WAY to big... Heh. Not to mention you still need a good deal of force to open the valve on it.
