I'm a clerk at a 'shack in eastern N.C.
So far I've taken back only 3 cars (we sold a boatload of'm!), an RSX (missing drive shaft, dirty servo), and two red Supras (dirty servo in one, broken steering joint in the other). I've been tinkering on them which has drawn me into this hobby (plus building a store car). After disassembling each car, they were full of sand, even the servo (strange since it looks like a sealed unit :( ). All were missing various bushings and showed wear from being run with out them. Interestingly enough, the range on each has been about 50-60ft once reassembled. I had one board fry on me, and I haven't figured out why (I'm not an E. tech) but it was around the antenna lead, however I was an idiot and working on it without removing the batteries (perhaps the first rule of tinkering on elec., remove the power ;) ). Sorry you folks had problems. I'm wondering since its winter if static shock could cause problems when handling the board as well? Take care, warren |
Out of the three I bought, I've never had to return one. None have had a problem that I could not correct myself.

I fried my civic and took it back and got a used Supra..pretty good I thought. My sister's RSX just fried out of freaking nowhere so I took that back and got a new RSX yesterday. It is still sitting in the box and whenever the new cars come out you know I am going to exchange for:D

I've had my skyline x-mod since x-mass (hehe) and it works great. My friend got a supra the other day that works well also. In fact his is a tad faster than mine, so I may have to check my drivetrain out for dirt and stuff.
Maybe I just dont know how good everything should be, but it's good enough for me. |
