well what kinda body do you want to make, and how do you want to make it. there are many differetn ways of making a body. 1. you could modify a current body with some putty. 2. you could make a resin molding of a body. to fit. 3. you could make a mold for vaccum forming. 4. you could race around with no body and call it a proto type invisible body...
|
well i really wanted to make a body of a old chevelle
whats the easiest way to make the body without using one already made |
your probably going to want to make a resin body.. first you need to mold your body out of something.. maybe plaster of paris. or putty, or whatever. then get some latex molding compound and make the mold of the body.. now you can paint the latex with resin to make the auctual body that will go on your body. now depeinging on what kinda resin you get you may have to do it differently. but thats the general idea.

Those German Guys .....
|
wow ZZ beetles, can you buy those anywhere?
|
Is the Mini avaliable for Bits?
|
mini cooper? Awesome! The beetle is cool too. So the monte carlo is heavy? How heavy are these bodies in comparison to the stocks?
|
No the Monte Carlo isnt heavy lol. It was my WEAK attempt a word play ( Heavy----> Chevy) Actually the bodies are lighter than stock bodies. They dont have to be but its what i choose personally.
As far as the "Hangin With Mr." Cooper...yes its available for Bits. I was up pretty late. Also NO...at the present time you cannot purchase THEE BUG in stores for ZZ's. This will be out LONG before either BITS or RS secure licensing. |
Mini!!!! lookin sweet man.
Keep me posted! through email or whatever means possible.... nice work |

For some reason people think i only make ZZ bodies. I dont . I make Bits also ( Mini Cooper...Beetle...Acura RSx Type S)
In the mean time...Welcome a new friend to the "Old School" family ( can you see Will Ferrell driving this?)! G-T-O! |

Can you see the Chevy Symbol ? Because its there..oh its there.
Clear light panels never looked so good ( imo) on a car. Looks way better on a truck (imo). |
dammm.. those are kick ass!! Exactly which ones do you have that fit the bits? and are they attaching directly to the front and rear tabs? some more pics of those others would really be nice.
|
hey sun, have you sent my RSX and escalade??
i havent seen you on AIM lately |
could we see a pic of the monte carlo? and do they come painted?
|
Wow!!!!!! You have mad skizills to pay the bizills! If I was'nt already dealing with Spanky I'd be ordering through you Sun. Spanky's a cool guy and has been working real hard on molds for impatient bastards like me. I owe him my buisness, and he's from Sac-a-tomatos! Go Nor-Cal! Go Kings!!!!!! Go me!!!!!!!!LOL!:D
|
Hey Spanky...i had been meaning to tell you i saw some of your pics on the other board. Looking good ( i believe i posted that) . Lets keep it going ;) .In regard to bodies that fit the BITS...ACURA RSX...MINI COOPER and 69 Charger. All bodies are measured for length and wheel well but i dont cut tab holes. 2 reasons...#1 becase it ruins aesthetics. If a guy wants to adhere the body another way he doesnt want a slot in his 66 GTO grill or bumper ( especially where the SWEET Pontiac word is emblazened) #2 Some people lik to lower/raise there cars....
E-mail me again Spanky...we can pick each others brain. I think i have an idea that might work. By the way...i had some nice peeps offer website speace so if your interested you can slap photos of your custom bodies up also. I was looking for you Superimporter. Your good..but e-mail me ...i have an "offer " for you. And whaddya mean ESCALADE? lol Ill turn my AIM back on ( i have a dinosaur so the less programs running the better). Spoop...i dont paint cars...but considering how well that last one turned out....ill paint yours ! Forustwentius....yes Spanky is cool....Im also from NOR-CAL and yes Nor-Cal is cool (17 years in the BAY Area b4 i moved to Los Angeles and then here. Moms in SAC-Town). BUT...NO GO-KINGS! NO- GO! Go K8 ! Go Diesel! RING #4! Sorry lol.....Kings are way tight but i cant leave my team just because they were struggling. Im a Bobby Jackson "fan" though. Hard working guy. |
my Email hasnt been working, it doesnt let me log in for some reason
im on AIM alot, so just "offer" me there |
Perhaps offer isnt the best word to use. I have Information for you ..how about that? Ill try to catch you on AIM but as i said already...your good to go.

NASCAR...very good looking car...but the wheel wells need to be opened a tad . Had i owned a dremel it would have been done for you ....but..as it stands...you need to borrow a nail file from the female in the house.....

another...open the wheel well....and its Nascar City....imo
Also...the quarter panel behind the rear tire isnt missing..its just clear lol. I painted most of the car but tried to avoid getting my fingers coated ( again). The pic makes it look as though the spoiler/trunk/rear end is paper thin . |

RSX BIT SIZED...clear lights ...this was a tough one for me
|
1 Attachment(s)
last...the rear wheel well LOOKS as if ts abnormal/to bigbut it ISNT. The tab slots are not cut so the tab on the chassis is pushing against the rear of the body ( pregnant look).Once the tab is through...the wheel well in the rear looks normal.
|
The Mini, the RSX, and the Escalade look cool Bit-sized.
|
humm looks good. are there differetn bodys for the bit and zips or are you just using the same body and chopping them down?
|
SAME.....but not always chopping the master.
|
well if they are all the same lenght then how are you attaching them? are you making the attachment points different? or are you using velcro? and if the fit on the tabs of a bit how do you attach to a zz? i wan one, but i want it to attach to the tabs on the car.. not a velcro job...
|
LOL i think we misunderstood each other ( or i misunderstood you) .
I use ONE master and create TWO distinct bodies ( for both chassis ...Zip and Bit). |
im still baffled.. 1 master to produce 2 different bodys??? how is that possible? or are you just injecting a lot more resin in the front and rear so it will be thick enough to attach? i thought you would have to create 2 seperate masters 1 for zip and 1 for bit. but maybe lack of sleep has hampered my thinking abilies... im still confused... lol
|
I think what suntzu means by master is the first mold he makes from the diecast. He then casts and creates respective molds from those casts. I wanna stress that this is only an assumption as I don't know the specifics of his process.
|
ummmm
this all seems very complicated
