Nice...
VERY nice, Ripper7...
UPDATE on progress to date: It's been DAMN cold in Indy... so I have done little to prevent issues with paint and/or glue drying properly. I HAVE however, purchased all supplies for my grand design: - 4 2x4 sheets of "hardboard" also heard it referred to as "mitor" board - 2 spray cans of BlackBoard paint - pile of scrap wood (to reinforce the bottom on a fram and slimmer pieces for the top-side to support the rails - 16" of left-over gray rubberized kitchen-floor moulding (for rails) - 1 can of "Great Stuff" to make some terrain (I just love any excuse to use spray-foam) - 1 4x8 foot piece of 3/4" sub-flooring to use as a hinge-down base from the garage wall Wish me luck... *GRIN* |

Heres the last pic of my rally course, it's still under construction
|
That rally course looks like it's gonna be crazy coo... What's it made of?!

Hey Baked,
The track is mostly foam insulation board half an inch thick. The whole thing measures only 2' by 4' as per space. The base is hardboard. The roadway is craft foam board, cut to 3" wide so you can race 2 cars at a time. This is a very technical, slow track, built mostly for torque and driving skill. Theres plenty of fast tracks out there, I wanted something challenging. Also I'm a big fan of WRC so it only seemed natural to build one. There is Plaster of paris being applied to my track as we speak. I will post pics when its done. PWalk |
Awesome, how long you think it'll take to dry?!
-Bob PS: In case you couldn't tell, I'm anxious... |
