What I meant was that all things being equal, meaning same voltage, the new board must output more voltage to make a difference.
At the same voltage and the same motor the current on the circuit will be exactly the same! so you wouldn't see any difference.

Thanks for all the input.

I will confirm these findings after the vacation, just to satisfy my curiousity.

There was some discussion about PWM on another thread, but I don't think anyone has done it yet.
