very cool, I'll definitly be using this mod when I get home today. Props to you and the xmod world guy!
hey thanks for the props! hi people. i'm the guy on xmodworld that came up with this mod(same username there). not blowing my own horn, but i've been into rc for about 15 years. i hope to be a constructive and useful member here. there was a reference to this site on xmod world,so i thought i'd check it out. i have a 5 cell skyline, totally hopped mini z,and totally hopped micro rs4,so im not new to the mini and micro scene(not to mention all my 1/10 and 1/8 scale cars).i'd be happy to help on any subject i can.:)

I ended up removing the stopper completely off of the steering wheel. It made a noticable difference for me when I ran the road course that night, I wasn't having to run so wide on my right turns anymore. I still need to do the resistor mod.

I read about a variation on this fix on the Other Site. It was posted by burlguy. What he did was add metal film 4.7k ohm resistors to the orange and brown wires that lead from the pcb to the servo. (I'd try the surface mount fix, but my soldering skills are severely lacking.) Has anyone else tried this? Is this electronically sound?

Thanks,

Ron.

Welcome to the forum.

I don't have the un-equal turing problem but I would like to reduce the turn radius. When I had the controller apart I noticed that if you turned the wheel too far it would just go dead. If i removed the whole stopper will it go dead if you turn to far or will it still have another stopper?

On my controller, it works fine. The wheel cannot turn all the way around, it does have another stopper in there somewhere.

Cutting the steering restriction on the controller works wonders. Thanks for the tip! Meanwhile, I'm adapting a Mini 4WD 64000RPM motor into this baby... ;)
