ya the guns are too heavy for little things like this. my buddy is an ee and ive seen him bust out the gun once and that was when his good iron was broken. a gun would be good for putting plumbing pipes together or something i imagine but for electronics you want a something that is light and easy to hold. the key is to use a sponge and keep wiping the excess solder off.

i suggest getting this:

and this:sponge/stand

I tried cobowabo's duel cell mod, and i had everything ready to put in bute the wires snapped off when i put them in the clips because i put to much solder on. It was only the 2nd or 3rd time I soldered afterall.
