Spanky , I have a website , but am not ready to expose
it just yet . I'm a little nervous about my content .
I need to refine it . Give me a couple of days , I'll probably
send it to you to see what you think .

You are correct , it's opaque pigment ( dye )
I have a website , but not ready to reveal it yet .
I'll send it to you in a couple of days for your
opinion . Yes it is the GTO from the French Site .

i posted a pic of what the clear resin looks like in the resinbody post... i remember we talked about it. either way your bodys are looking awesome.

Spanky 04-28-2003 09:32 AM

here is something im pondering. i have that nomad body ready for bits. however i have yet to decide wether i want to cut the wheel wells out or leave them filled and let people cut them out. im torn.. right now im the car will fit. but im afraid to stick it on the body for fear that i might break the putty. if i used bondo i woundt think twice about it, bit i used testors putty and have noticed that it gets kinda fragile..

Jezze got anuf detalial to the resins. I was wondering how to do resin mold of bit bodys if you know what I meen. I'm thinking of going into custom body making but I have no system of molding anything.

do a search for this. this post is even on the first page of posts. here is the link... but most of these things have been discussed in depth already.

Spanky , hit me with a pix of the Nomad ., Wanna see what
you're talking about . You are right the putty can't handle it .
I use the putty more for shaping or filling in . The bondo is
better for strenght.

well here is the first resin woody body. i taped the windows and sprayed some primer.. unfortnately i want to paint it a lighter color so i probably should have used white primer... o well this might end up being black silver flames and wood panels...

what do you all think.. i made it so it just snaps directly on to a zip Zap.....

WOW...you guys are sure getting tons of detail working on these latest batch of bodies.

Willing to take requests on a few?

Spanky , you've gotta try the color match resin . Adding color
can eliminate the need to paint . If done right , all that is
needed is a little polishing and some clearcoat. .

Spanky 05-09-2003 02:31 PM

well if i use the color match resin.. or add the dye to my resin(i can buy dye for the resin..) then the windows will no longer be clear. the reason i put down primer is because when putting on lighter color paint i can use fewer coats. and some of the paint that i have is rather expensive. where a can of primer is only a couple dollars... so i can put 3 coats of the light color paint on. or one coat of primer and one coat of paint... if i was using a darker color paint i wouldnt worry about primer.. My resin is clear. and if i were to spray some clear coat on my car after molding it it really shines/clears up. almost like a glass car.. Painting is half the fun.. it allows you to bring the creation to life and give it some attitude.

Email me what bodys your working on, and what bodys youve completed. i dont want to make the same ones your making. and is that a range rover or something?

i havent done much with the nomad in the past week. its damm close to being finished. hopefully i will get it going soon...

It's a Toyota Scion XB , I'm working on these . These are
earlier photos , I'm just about finished .

I personally like the blacked out windows . I don't wanna see
the pcb cover , dual cells , or wires from light set.
