how do the mini-x 2or4wd compare to the tamiya
tamtechs?
ide like to find out on mini-x i use to have a
tamtech and loved the speed and power, and could
realy use some feedback on these mini-x 2or4wd
The speed is simalar if you use the 6 cell pack. The only car I have that can keep up with my Tamtec is my abc sp with a 180 motor. The Mini X wont have quite the speed of the Tamtec but in 4wheel drive it will have much more traction. Also the Mini X 6 cell battery pack is 700mah and most Tamtec packs are under 300mah. I have built a 6 cell pack for my tamtec using the 700mah Mini X cells and the car will run forever.

Just put together a Mini-X w/ full bearings and 6 cells. The top speed is satisfying. Acceleration is not good due to its motor that's not upgradable and the so-so quality of its driver chain, whose fit and finish are questionable. Even with full bearings installed, there is so much gap in the plastic parts that hold the dog bones, wheels, etc. Traction is good but I doubt there is much more I could do to improve it, so I will probably not spend too much time on my Mini-X and buy either a ABC DTM SP or a Dynamite Rocket Racer in the near future. Anyway, my next car must accept 6 cells and a 180 motor.
To be fair though, Mini-X should be compared to another 4wd car like a ABC DTM x4. And you won't find another 1/24 r/c 4wd car w/ full bearings and 6 cells at its price range. Also, I like its 4 wheel independent suspension - it's really lovable considered its small scale. It would be nice if Express could release an improved model that fixes all the short comings of its first attempt.
All in all, not a bad car at its price, but should not expect too much in the quality department. Hope this helps.
