Save your money!!!
1. It's HUGE! Looks ridiculous on the front of a wild.
2. Ass ugly dark red color (what's wrong with black?).
3. Shoots only about 3-4 inches.
4. A small button-like switch has to be pressed to reel the hook back in (that sucks big-time).
5. Takes forever to reel the hook back in (upgraded weapon motor would prob. take care of this).
Maybe it will grow on me. Or running 2 wilds battling with the hook shooters would be better, who knows?

What do you mean you have to push a small button to reel back in? The button on the remote?or on the truck?

There is a mechanical button on the top of the hook shooter that needs to be pressed to engage the spindle so the hook can be reeled back in.
The firing force is not controlled by the weapon motor. There is a spring inside the "barrel" of the hook shooter. The hook reels in and compresses the spring. When it gets so far in, the spring is released and fires the hook.

That is kind of disappointing to hear. How long is the string?

got my hook shooter, but guess what, great timing my wid char decides to up and die on me........argh, luckily reinforcements are on the way and another is coming, my first can be for mods and spares now.....no problems. just alittle waiting, i think im gonna take a look see and see if i can put in like a retractable pen spring or something, that is a pretty weak spring.....on my hookshooter ( at least when i play with it in my hand turning the gear under it) the button falls by itself just from gravity, if this wasnt the case, then what i was thinking was maybe putting a wieght or a small piece of metal on the button, so it pushes itself down........we'll see once i get my new char_g or get my old one up and running.........i think i fried my PCB:mad:  :p

Thought about adding a weight to the button. Would have to be "just right" to allow the hook to fire. Pressing lightly on the button with my finger just hung things up till I let go.

yea, i know, i came to the same conclusion as i played around with it and took it apart, for now i think im goin to leave the stock spring, as for the button, i was also thinking about the possibility of a thin rather loose elastic band, just enough to still allow rotation and vertical movement of the button.............
