Hey everybody. Just thought I'd show off my bone stock DTM. Not like you guys haven't seen one before, but I thought I'd show the chassis anyway.
BTW, this is my first post in this forum.

My digicam kinda sucks, but here is another one. I bought the Jaguar body for it, the liquid mask is drying overnight. Does anybody know how to mount the wing? I also bought the Dynamite Porsche GT1.

Hi Woody, I'm also getting ready for another 1/24 car. I've got the Mini-X already. And my next one will most likely be either a Dynamite or an ABC DTM SP - still cannot decide yet.
Would you mind to do a little review/comparison between these two 1/24 cars later?
P.S. Hope someone else can answer your wing mounting question.

Hi Clique. Well, So far I have a Kawada Tripmate and the new DTM. I bought the Dynamite body for the DTM so I hope that didn't confuse you. I only know a little bit about the mini-x, just what I've read and what not. I do plan on buying a 4wd DTM in a month or two, depending on what the local popularity is.

Hi was ist los, From what I understand, you can use just about any 1/24 scale body. There was a pic from Microrcengineering that looked a lot like a slot car body(1/24 scale).
Anyway, I wanted to show the progress of the car and more specifically the batteries Iwill be using. They are AA lithium batteries, and it only takes 2 of them since they are 3.6 volts a piece.
Here is a pic....
More progress to come..

Woody, can't wait to see the body, I know it will be a hit.
And my next one will most likely be either a Dynamite or an ABC DTM SP - still cannot decide yet.
FYI we just got the Dynamite in, should be in the Shop shortly.

Wow, two 3.2v lithium cells on a DTM SP! If they give the same punch like a 6-cell nicad or nimh pack does then I'd consider getting the DTM X4 in the future - I like its 4 wheel drive a lot but feel a bit constrainted about its battery placement possibilities. I once thought about a saddle pack created using 2/3 AA cells will solve the problem, but may be your 2-cell lithium pack is easier to build. Can't wait to hear from you about how these lithium cells perform on your DTM SP.
Sorry I didn't read carefully about your Dynamite purchase.

Woody, are they Lithium or Lithium Ion? If the former, then they are not rechargeable, right?

These particular ones are not rechargeable. I have a box of them that my battery supplier gave me because I was looking for a lith set up, and he is clearing them out of stock. I do have some that are rechargeable will will be testing them out since my supplier decided to stock them for me.
So, if I get rid of the battery box set-up, then I just tape the cells in? What's the biggest battery I can get in there if I decide Lith batts are not the way to go?
BTW guys, I have a ES01 and an XXL receiver to use with my M8 radio. If the ES01 does not work well, then I'll just use a LRP Quantum. I also have an HPI motor for it, and I'm looking for a bearing kit. So I'll keep posting pics as progress occurs.

for the batteries, you could solder them together and glue them onto a peice of plastic with nuts glued to the plastic. then, you coud drill and countersink holes on you chassis for the screws to attach to the nuts. heres an example, but put on an rs4 micro. http://www.micrors4racer.com/rs4racerpics.htm

Yep, I thought of that. But I'm waiting for somebody to post a pic of a set up that does not use the battery box, and all the stuff mounted to it. I might just try and take off on my own and come up with a design that works. By the way, I assembled a brick pack for it this weekend, and after feeling what it weighs, I now know why they call them "brick packs":D

Well, It looks like this car will be on hold for a few days. I painted a body and had a whole bunch of lifting. So I bought the Nissan GTP body as a back up. Does anybody know how to mount the wingd on any of these cars? PIcs would be nice. In fact, pics of a layout without the battery box would be greatly appreciated.

Clique,
I don't know weather you realize this or not, BUT the Dyanmite is just the OLD ABC DTM less the SP. Basiclly the differences are in the rear pod and the chassis. More importantly the Dynamite is RTR with TOTALL CRAP electronics and 4cells. Dyamite is trying to just pitch it as a competitor to the Mini-Z while it could be SO much more!!!!!

Woody,
I do have a friend that does NOT use the battery box. The shock on the rear is ireally not necessary.
Using the Li cells sound really cool BUT your ES01 will not be able to take it, atleast NOT with a motor any hotter than a 130!!
Also, even with the freek'en BRICK of a stock battery pack in the car, it STILL drives really, really light!!!! I hate to see how it handles with just 2 cells!!! Can you say, dragsteer :D
No clue on the Jaguar wing, I had a Jag body but the wing was molded to the end of the body.

I'm surprised to hear that the Dynamite actually originated from the old ABC DTM product. Anyway, may be this is not the right thread to question this more. I will just look into it and see what more I can uncover.
Thanks to gertman for the hint.

Let me explain siince my digicam really stinks. The paint is Spaz Stix (http://www.spazstix.com) Red/Blue/Purple color change paint. The stripe around the ****pit is Spazstix liquid metal chrome. The body is a Nissan. And, I also painted the wheels with Alclad Chrome.

And here is the last one. Somebody needs to step up and make some better wheels for this thing. I modified the bottom chassis to fit the HPI 45 turn motor, and the LRP speedo is being re-fitted with smaller wire. Tonight I will chuck-up the wheels and true the tires WAAYYY down. I'll post more pics as they become available.
