Hello all,
I am currently working on many new ideas for the Mini-X. They are as follows:

1. RWD/FWS dual plane chassis for 180 motors (currently making in g-10)

2. FWD/FWS using 130 motor.

3. AWD/FWS Pan style chassis. 130 or 180 motor.

4. AWD/AWS Pan Chassis. 130 or 180 motor.

5. Monster Truck (more work on suspension (might be on hold for quite some time)).

6. Nitro X!!!!

Here are the progress pics of project #1, be sure to check back, as this one should be operational as soon as i get my IRC order.

I might not sell them, but i totally might as well.

I was thinking it would be easier to sell or just give away the plans. i have these all drawn up in AutoCAD and soon SolidWorks, but i need to test anything (materials and such).

If people want them i might consider offering them as kits.

Oooh, I like the cell placement! Have you thought about using different/smaller cells? Maybe LiPoly!?

sounds very interesting....they do see expensive....but i bet those would work nicely in many cars....hmmm

Darn it, now i have to save my money for those too! i guess it's time to start selling my mini computer....argh

Ok guys, did a first first test run...no traction at all this thing scoots so fast....

I'm in process of making a solid motor mount at work (umm i am a slacker!) and i'll re test...this thing will smoke my slightly modded X or friends modded Z without a problem!

Anyone know of Foams that will work?

More pics later!

The GPM MiniZ foams should fit or you can cut down some other foams. How is the HMT 10 esc working?

It is working so far...only about 10 minutes on it...had to take a trip to my LHS

The guy behind the counter was like "oh this is an airplane ESC eh?" and i said "no its a german car ESC, the HMT10". Note, this is after he said "we don't stock or carry any HPI parts", after i asked about some 2mm screws for the 180 motor that is from a RS4. After getting my 4 measly screws, he then says "we carry mini rc's as well...those microsizers and the kyosho (mini-z)". Then i get ready to go to the register and he blurts out "hey, you know that cheap ESC is only gonna work for like a few more runs, they are so easy to break", then i say "oh yeah, you know the specs on this..."...what fun to have incompetent workers at my LHS...so i think i will no longer go there...have to drive to the superior one another 20 miles away...

Sounds like fun. I ran that esc for a least 10 battery packs 7.2v and a mod 180 motor. You should let him put it in a plane. Id like to see the look on his face when he hit's reverse:eek:

I hit the URL, but question is: how long the run time of that LiPoly?
Thank you.

Actually i did think of Li-Poly, but ran out of $$$ and interest in this one...

Might even look to selling it for a cheap price, so if you wanna make and offer...jscobie@wideopenwest.com

Also it includes a 180 motor, rear 35T diff, Micro Servo (steering geometry is a wee bit off still), Dynamite super tiny reciever (same as the Hitec Shredder), a German ESC that should handle quite a bit more load, and i'll toss in the battery pack i made.

All you would need is 27MHZ AM crystals, battery charger, and a transmitter.

This would be sold as an AS-IS part, and i can guarantee it runs, but the steering needs work as well as the motor mount was never completely finalized (works though!).

Those are only 145mah, so they won't last very long at all. But they are so light that it would really fly. I would suggest the E-Tech brand 700mah cells, as they are designed to deliver way more current - and a pair would still weigh in just over one ounce! They run about $12 each at the micro r/c airplane shops. If I get some I will let you know. I have been running Lithium Ion cells - 830mah at about 2 ounces, and like them very well.
