The stock gears on a z-car (yellow) are the same ratio as a stock bit (orange).
The red racing gears are different from any bit gears. For one thing, the pinion gear (the one right on the motor) has 8 teeth rather than the normal 6 on a bit. The red idler gear has 16 teeth on the outside and 7 on the inside. Compare that to 18/7 on a stock bit idler gear. The gear on the axle has 23 teeth.
I'm too tired to do the math. Sorry. But here's my best estimation. . . .
6.5 : 1
Don't quote me.

This is how you find the gear ratio. Take the number of teeth on the gear that's on the axle and divide it by the smaller set of teeth on the idler gear. Take this number and multiply it by the larger number of teeth on the idler gear. Finally, divide the number by the number of teeth on the pinion gear. This number is the gear ratio to 1. So it is x:1.
