Hey I just found this way to increase range without doing the screwdriver trick (sorry didnt know what its called). But anyways people are calling this the cripple capacitor trick. some of the controllers have it and some dont. people have reported going from 6ft to 23. heres the link

There's a potentiometer on the car's circuit board (behind the small hole). Some people have been able to use a small screwdriver to turn it. It can be adjusted to tune the reciever to the transmitter and increase range.

I've never done it since it seems I can't do this on my Spec. Ed. car and I haven't tried on any of the others. I have done the capacitor mod and it is amazing. To bad it doesn't work for the multi-band controller.

I couldn't even find a capacitor like the pics. provided. My set is the Trueno TuneUp Boxset.

Some controllers have the capacitor, some don't. It's a mystery as to why. It's not even frequency dependent.
