im a newb, and want a rocket racer. i feel stupid saying this, but does the stock DRR use alkaline batteries, or rechargeables? how do you charge them if they are rechargeable?
The stock DRR can use either battery type. If you buy rechargables get the correct charger at the same time.

It can use either/or. It takes 8 AA for the transmitter and 4 AAA for the car.
I use alkalines in the transmitter because they will last a loooong time, but I use rechargable AAA's in the car. I just bought the cheap Raovac 700 mah ones from Walmart and the Raovac charger from Walmart. The car batteries last almost an hour before they need recharging. I've got 2 sets. One charging, and one in the car. It's really up to you as to what you want to use in the car, but I think replacing alkaline AAA's in the car would get expensive after a while.
