I'm not lazy... I just have no skillz =P i donno how to increase my range for my rc (well i do but donno how to do it) and i was wondering if someone could do it for me? say make a double antenna for me, put a bigger antenna on my remote control, etc.. stuff like that? I think i read on one of these post some guy was asking FanMan to help him out too. any help would be great. my e-mail address is KrazyAznBoi@hotmail.com i can pay for parts and all that, i just need someone to help me out by installing antennas and stuff (i have no welding ex. at all) i can also pay a lil extra for your troubles... help?

ok...I can do this..... but, I will be gone for the next week or so, so if your willing to wait then I would be more than happy to help you. my advice is to get the parts off something else, if you can find one, a mini-radio has the best parts. I'm not at home right now either so I can't e-mail you, but drop me a line and I'll get back to it as soon as I get back:D

time is not really important to me... i just wanna be able to pull my rc car outta my pocket and have my friends drop to their knees :D. The mods i want are... to remove the "crippler" from the rc car, double antenna on car, duel battery (which is the best battery out?), booster, a 4ch remote controler and a longer hard antenna on the remote control. I read somewhere (prob one fo your post) but people were able to control their rc cars up to like 50ft or even farther (to the point where they cant even see the freakin thing anymore!) anyways, i want that kinda range, also i want a long ass run-time (thus the duel battery) finally i want to be able to SMOKE everyone of my friends and lap their @$$es! I already dropped a 3.8 motor into it and have new gears, tires and susspention. Bust i want more! this is where the boost comes in. also the original controler suck and ive heard about the 4ch one! i want! but i also want a hard retractable antenna cuz i hear the range wil increase dramaticly... think you can do all that? i can pay for parts and a lil extra for your toubles :D.

Not to take work away from thefanman, but www.bitchar-gmotors.com/ profesionally does mods if you send your stuff to them. I think they specialize in the mods that you want. Check it out...

TheFanMan is out camping now...i just got back cuz i left early. I dunno if its a good idea for us to do mods such as dual battery installations because there is a good chance something might go wrong and we don't want to have to deal with replacing anyone's property. The other mods are pretty safe though...we will talk later when thefanman is back..

i can get most of the mods done.. the only real one i want is the duel battery one cuz my car maxed out... but please talk with thefanman.

one more thing... how do you write under your screen name? "I drive the shoebarro"

hit "user cp" then go "user profile" and near the bottom if you are a tinyrc pro then you can put whatever you want there.

ok, I'm biznack in the hizouse. got in all my stone-cold campin and am back in the world of bc-g. already put springs and a new battery in my rx-7 so the battery mod is no prob for me. have you already done the 4ch. mod or no? and yes I can make your car go 50ft, that's the range of mine after I put on the double antenna and modded my controller. just about anything you can throw at me I'll be able to do because I tortured my own cars to test out the mods. and I believe the cripple capacitor is in the remote, not the car...right? anyway, if you look on qfm and buy a battery from them then you can go ahead and send it off to me with anything you need modded (send a list if you can) I'm still not at home so I can't check my mail, but if you send me an e-mail I'll be home tomorrow. felixtcat@mac.com we'll work out the rest from there:D

OK...listen verrryy carefully.

at the top of any page in the TinyRC forums, there is a button that says [user cp]. (it is next to the register button and callendar button.) CLICK THAT BUTTON.

That takes you to a page with a menu across the top. there is a button called [Edit profile] CLICK THAT BUTTON

Once you are at that page, scroll down till you see the USER TEXT header.

Now, Enter what you want to show up under your username in the box.

Then, finally click [ACCEPT MODS]

heh...explicit enough?

well first off, i broke my bit char-g (one wire was broken off) so imma send it to fanman to fix then try to make an interior antenna on it (guinnie pigs). if it works WAHOO! anyways since i broke my bit im bidding on a booster set on ebay with 4ch controller for 5 bucks! wahoo (actually its .50 cents but i proxied up that high... if you se it on ebay.. DONT BID!) anyways, when he finishes my curent bit and if the interior antenna works.. then ill send my booster to him to mod. of course imma give him some extra $ for all his help and pacients. :D if everything goes as planned ill combine both my bits to make an ultimate bit, the other will just be a backup or whatever. maybe ill hvae one for show and one for racing.. :D

some people do use tv antennas but they may be a bit big.. im sure you can find diffrent sizes tho at your local electronics store. besides, even if your antenna WAS like 10ft wouldnt you think the range would be HUGE?! ;) just a thought... haha

henry
10-05-2002, 04:07 PM
do u tink if i cut open a slot 4 my redio antenna in my remote would it had been beter? cuz i didnt want 2 cut a hole on my remote yet till i see it goes good. so i tried closing the controler a little bit 4 the antenna sticks out. it didnt screw the remote bac yet i tested if the antenna works first.

Arrive2Defy
10-06-2002, 01:18 AM
i KNOW that if u put the antenna on the remote (4 ch or reg) itll boost your range up quite a bit. personally i wouldnt know cuz i never tried but from what i hear it will.

where is fanman, 323, wedge, tiny and the gang when ya need then?

cowfish_29

*snap!*

i'm awake...i have the hard antenna mod on my 4 ch. controller, and it helps some. I used to have about 2 ft of variable range on my scooby, and now i have anywhere from 4 ft to about 10 ft depending on how good of a day it is, and where i am in the house. My brother's loctite zexle used to have about 3ft and now has about 8ft on a good day.

TheFanMan had a 4ch controller with a smaller hard antenna and the QFM twisted heavy gauge wire mod on his rx7 before he killed it. That thing got damn near 50ft...

so, it a combination of both the car and the controller, but i think a lot more can be done to to the car.
