Haco,

I own a few Mini-Z's, 7 to be exact.
Unfortunately the Mini-Z wheels do not fit the Mini-X.
I have looked into perhaps modifying them to fit, but it is too much work and the Mini-Z has a smaller diameter axle too, it is too bad they don't fit, as the Mini-Z wheels are available in 9mm wide (same as Mini-X) and 11mm wide.
The Mini-X's wheels are crap and the tires even worse.

Is it possible /feasible to modify the Mini-x axles to take Z wheels??

(custom parts maybe, tinyrc??)

You can make Mini Z wheels fit with only a small amount of work.

First, when using mini z wheels the wheel track will be widened by approximately .30" so you will need a much wider body or you'll have to do some customizing to your current body.

Second, you will need 4 plastic axle bushings (if you added real bearings to your kit you should already have these laying around). In each bushing cut a groove through the center of one side just wide enough to fit over the pin that goes through the center of your axle. Now insert and glue that bushing into the back of the mini z wheel where their bearing is supposed to go (leave out the outside mini z bearing). It's that simple, you now have a mini z wheel that can be bolted onto your mini x.

One final note, you will have to turn your wheel nuts around backwards so that the nylon portion goes on the axle first in order for them to fit on the mini z wheel. As the nut is tightened down onto the mini z wheel it will center the wheel onto your axle shaft.

One more thing. Remember: If an individual says something can't be done, it just means it can't be done by that individual - Michael Strother
