Mach Series 1 for 26.95

didnt know it was an epoch before i got it lol - toynami is distributing it, i got it from voyager toys. i think they have an online site. i guess im in the epoch community now!

Yep, it has the EPOCH square green logo on the bottom left corner of the box. On the front it also says "Indoor Racer RC 1/43 SPEC-1" So it looks legit. Also it's all in japanese so it looks like all Toynami did was distribute it. I just drove it around and it is FAST. and proportional steering and accel, whee! but i still cant figure out what all the controls on the pistol do, like the grey thumb switch to the left of the wheel that moves up. anyone have english directions? also, how long should i safely charge it up? the charge light never turns off (or im just impatient and unplug it myself to race lol) thanks!

Oh, and I did some research, the box i got looks IDENTICAL to the Epoch box i found below, so it is most definitely an Epoch. Word on this spreads fast, I saw my link pop up on that rival rc board already and i didnt even post there lol.

The grey button behind the wheel for steering is for the adjustable grip, which moves very little and is more annoying since it makes the controller feel kind of cheap!

I just clicked on the link and they are selling it for $56.95 were are the $26.95 epochs mach 5's:confused: Hobby people is selling the Mach 5 set for $49.99.They don't have it on there website but I bet if you called in a order they would get you one for that price.They have a ton of these cars.I just was not happy with the quality of the body so I am going to wait and get a spec 2 for another $40.00 from tiny:D when I get the money save up.

price up to 56.95 now, i heard that the distributor made them raise the price, hard to believe, but its gone up from 26.95 to 56.95 in a couple hours, i got mine before the price went up, weird huh?

Epoch must be sitting on a couple 100 thousand of the speed racer sets. They are dumping them for really cheap.I Remeber this happened to the Johnny Lighting bodies for the T jet slotcar people were paying $5.00 to $20.00 for the bodies.Then JL sold them to Dollar Tree and they were selling $1.00 each a year later:eek:
I guess speed racer has lost it appeal to the likes of Inital D and Gundam in Japan.

Hey, I just ordered one from them too. That's too sweet of a deal to pass up. Total was 34.65 with 3 Day UPS shipping. I searched through the Epoch forum here and also found a thing about the AMT 1:43 scale snap models. These are older models, but are Late 60's early 70's models. Anyway, I found a '69 Torino, that according to the forum, should fit the Epoch Spec1 chassis. But it now for $7.00, shipping w/ insurance was $5.35. When all done, I should have a custom Epoch '69 Torino, all for a total of $47.00. What a deal. I'm also really into the Tomy Bits too, but have been dieing to get into an Epoch. Looking at the pic again, you can see it is long. That's alright though, I'll just keep looking for these models on ebay. They seem to go fairly cheap. I need to go back to the other thread about these models to get a list of the ones that do fit. I thought only the vette in these series didn't work. In a month or so, I'm gonna pick one of the spec2 chassis/body kits, since I'll already have the TX. Anyway, Thank you for your input. I appreciate it.

What a drag. I just ordered mine yesterday and got the e-mail/with tracking info from them today. So it's on it's way. It'll be here next Wednesday. I was looking at these all week. The one that had it for $26 something, had it listed at that price on Wednesday and Yesterday was double the price. Crazy stuff. They must be checking the forums. I think someone else said that too. I've seen the Mach 5's on Ebay, but most are going for $45.00 or so, maybe more. Good luck in your search.

I just got off the phone with Anime Castle he had to back order my order for 1 speed racer set at $27.50.I talked to owner I guess and he said it was unbeliveable he had sold over 200 cars in 2 hour period:eek: He is trying to get more to fill all the orders.I canceled my order because I highly doubt he will be able to get more at this price.
The power of the message boards. I sure am glad all of us that ordered them were not at the store it self.I could picture in my mind us having fist fights over toy cars. Like some women do at the big Depatment store sales at the Bra and panty sales :D

That's cool guys. Back order at that price is great. I was doing some surfing and found the Speed Racer set going as high as $149.00. Some places that had both Spec1 and Spec2 cars for sale were listing the Speed Racer at the normal $79.00 Spec1 price. So, getting it for $27.50 is unreal. We've all lucked out big time. Even if it is on backorder for you, it's worth the wait. Mine will be here on Wednesday. Can't wait. Plus I just purchased an AMT/Matchbox 69 Ford Mustang Mach1 model kit. We'll see if that one fits the chassis. Later.

ive created a monster! argh! anyhow i should have saved the 30 bucks i spent on the knight rider char-g and bought another epoch, oh well. epoch rules! and my apt isnt big enough to gun it!

Just received my speed racer set from voyager toys. About $37 plus $12 Fed Ex that took a week to get here. Somebody is ripping somebody off on the shipping.

My lhs wants $80 for them so I am happy.

Now I need to get a spec 2 and some model bodies.

The controller works well for my little girl. It fits her hands better.

If you are having trouble with range, try a good controller. My Airtronics has four times the range ( YES I MEASURED IT ).

I triple charge mine everytime and I get ten minutes out of it. Mostly on carpet.

The car is plenty fast. I may try the 4cell mod, but only if I can get a lot more Mah.

I am working on fitting a 1/43 die cast NASCAR body.
