I noticed small cracks appearing in the rear plastic latch where the metal motor clip pushes in. I could see that it was destined to completly crack open enventually after changing the motors ect. I had some kevlar thread used to reinforce balsa wood airplanes and just crazyglued three small peices on the top, bottom and side on the latch, I didnt do the side where the metal rests pushes againt it as this would require more mods and is not nessecarry. After the glue hardens this stuff is STRONG and adds ridgity and makes the once vulnerable part soild. I only had to slice a bit of plastic off the reciever of the car body to accomidate the now slighty larger clip. You might be able to do the same with fiber glass cloth.
