As we know the steering on the Z-cars is'nt exactley sturdy so this guy made some bushings from metal tubing to take uo the slack. He had to enlarge the holes in the plastic steering arm to accomidate the bushings.. He also added the rare earth magnet.. I guess youd have to use non-magnetic material for the bushing. Perhaps you could fashion some with plastic?

I saw that post over in the forbidden forum. The metal he used was stainless steel so the magnet shouldn't effect it at all.

Or you could use brass, copper, or aluminum, which are all non-magnetic and lighter than stainless. Great idea to take up slack.
