While I was waiting for X-mass to come hoping that I got the Tiger and Panther Digi-q tanks I thought up some possible rules for a game.
The game is kind of like combat capture the flag. However, the objective is to knock over the opponet's "radio towers" while protecting your own.
Rules:
1. Pick a playing area: I was thinking the dining room table (but that works only when the wife is not home). The living room floor works fine I'm sure.
2. Each team get 5 "radio towers" to place on their side of the playing area. The towers each get their own point value. I was thinking two 5 point towers, two 10 point towers, and a 15 point tower. (I have made some great towers 4-5" high out of legos.)
3. Then terrain/obstacles are placed in the playing area. (The legos also make great walls and bunkers to hide behind. I found that if you make a window in the lego wall two lego heights from the bottom that the tank can fire through it without being hit from enemy fire.) The walls should be somewhat stationary between games but each player gets some extra obstacles to place in support of their tactical plan.
A player cannot completely surround a tower with obstacles.
4. Game play goes for 10 minutes or until one player is knocked out.
5. If a player gets stuck on the field then his opponent gets one free shot at him and 30 seconds to move around the playing area before the tank is recovered and allowed back into play.
6. At the end of 10 minutes the points for knocked over towers are counted and a point for each round of ammo remaining (in war mode) is added to the score to decide who won. You could also take off (3-5) points for each hit that is made on you tank.
This is just a beggining idea for rules. Let me know what you think.
