While I was waiting for X-mass to come hoping that I got the Tiger and Panther Digi-q tanks I thought up some possible rules for a game.
The game is kind of like combat capture the flag. However, the objective is to knock over the opponet's "radio towers" while protecting your own.

Rules:
1. Pick a playing area: I was thinking the dining room table (but that works only when the wife is not home). The living room floor works fine I'm sure.
2. Each team get 5 "radio towers" to place on their side of the playing area. The towers each get their own point value. I was thinking two 5 point towers, two 10 point towers, and a 15 point tower. (I have made some great towers 4-5" high out of legos.)
3. Then terrain/obstacles are placed in the playing area. (The legos also make great walls and bunkers to hide behind. I found that if you make a window in the lego wall two lego heights from the bottom that the tank can fire through it without being hit from enemy fire.) The walls should be somewhat stationary between games but each player gets some extra obstacles to place in support of their tactical plan.
A player cannot completely surround a tower with obstacles.
4. Game play goes for 10 minutes or until one player is knocked out.
5. If a player gets stuck on the field then his opponent gets one free shot at him and 30 seconds to move around the playing area before the tank is recovered and allowed back into play.
6. At the end of 10 minutes the points for knocked over towers are counted and a point for each round of ammo remaining (in war mode) is added to the score to decide who won. You could also take off (3-5) points for each hit that is made on you tank.

This is just a beggining idea for rules. Let me know what you think.

Hi combat fans.
My Tiger1 and Sherman arrive in a few days (ordered from shinza.com). Meanwhile I have been thinking about ideas for combat based on Capture the Flag.

Anyone familiar with the game Quake will know about single flag ctf where two teams fight over possesion of a goal. This migrates easily to the digiq tanks;
How about having a battlefield full of obstacles with a base for each tank at either end and a goal in the middle that can be carried by the tanks. This goal could be a small loop of wire that can be picked up with the tanks gun barrel, or whatever works.
The tanks start in their own bases and fight off the other tank to carry the goal back to base.
If the tank carrying the goal is hit it would spin off the barrel but remain upright. The tank that did the shooting could then pick up the goal and scoot while the tank that dropped it spins in place and the game would continue.
This game would work even better with 4 tanks, either 2 teams or every tank for itself.

When my tanks arrive I'll try making a goal(flag) that can be carried and dropped and in turn picked up by another tank. Sounds like fun to me.

Any other ideas out there?

Sounds interesting, but it may be difficult to make a "flag" that will work right. Good luck.

I have a good idea for Takara/Konami. They could make some stationary weapons that could be used together with the tanks without having to modify the existing tanks or making any changes to those coming out. For instance they could make a bunker with a motorized gun turret. Kind of like the tanks turret which should have been motorized( they came so close!).

if you check out the Konami site they have listed 3 official games for users to play. youll need to use Babelfish to translate.

pretty interesting games... looks like they are designed for 2 tanks tho. in anycase it should keep most of us busi.

Check it out. ive copied the link below for the lazy ones.
