Grab some tiny tubing, 2 sizes, then just wrap some tape around the smaller of the two, shove it into the larger so you hide that tape, then cut it to length. Would look just like a muffler.

hmm yah about the pen thing..
i added an exhaust today on my Evo

what i did was..make a hole in where the plastic mock exhaust is...and take/find a pen [probably a gel pen] that has a metal tip.
take off everything, even the ink part...the cap, then the plastic part that connects it to the ink with plyers or something similar...
and voila...easy muffler...all u need to do is clean it, and make sure there is no ink left in it...and make sure your hole u made is big enough, but not to big so where it falls out :D

wish i had a camera... :(

DUDE THATS AWESOME! wait so you used a pen TIP? what kinda pen was it? I think imma just break all my school pens just to do this mod! :D keep me posted.

can u post pics of underneath the bcg....?

MTL
09-10-2002, 08:01 PM
wow...that looks perfect on that car !! :D
thanks for actually trying my idea
i didnt think i was the umm first to think of it ...maybe not.

but also..to get rid of extra weight and length..i cut the cone tip off with pliers...[watch out, could hit you in the eye]

and umm...its really hard to tell which tip is the right one...you just have to pull one apart to see how long it is, cuz some are longer than others...the pick payaso showed is a perfect size

yeah the diameter of the tip isnt "ricer" big :D...but its more proportional to a real car

DONT BREAK YOUR PENS!! carefully pull them apart, piece by piece. when taking off the ink tubing, its best to do it over a bag or do it outside so u wont ruin something

on the cutting part, i used a narrow exacto knife..and just spun/twist it SLOWLY in circles :D then did it on the opposite side etc....i dont have a drill yet

Thanks! To those considering the pen tip as a cheaper option, please keep in mind that these are precision made mufflers specifically for the BC-G/MicroSizer. They have a special slot to aid mounting to the chassis. No pen tip is going to look this good, these are precision works of art!

The easiest way for me to take the pen tip off is to use an exacto knife. just cut the tubing off near the end and just use the exacto knife to slice it off at the side. takes only about a minute.

MTL
10-03-2002, 03:20 AM
ah ha!!
i have found another way of making an exhaust...depending on what kind of pen u have,
some pens have a metal pen tip that is fastened inside a plastic contraption...they come in all sorts of colors, its best to find a gray or copper colored one
and if u do some cutting with an exacto...u can make the perfect exhaust and not just an exhaust tip!
arg..i guess i gotta take pics of one...

mwhaha sorry i had to borrow the idea
but i used the gel tubing with a smaller tubing from another pen
i cut a piece of the smaller tube, and shoved it into the gel tube...and made into a catback style exhaust and muffler..i painted it with a paint pen
mine is bolted on with a small skrew from the bottom rear of the Bit chassis..but my muffler is positioned vertically if u are looking at an overhead view of the car....

its sweet..its alot better than my pen tip.....cept it doesnt shine like a pen tip can

You see, the thing is, I'm not interested in making the muffler part; that part is almost useless because its somewhat hidden under the car. The only thing you really need is the exaust tip, which (In my opinion) makes it look better, because you don't see the muffler leading to no where, just the nice chrome tip that makes it look better than painting it. I may post a tutorial on my website
The Bit Char-G Place (http://www.geocities.com/BitRacing) and show what I did, but I'm currently at work on making a tutorial for LED lights. I'm not saying that the muffler that you sell sucks; its just (again, in my opinion) a rip off; plus you have to pay shipping and handling!

i got the 00 nissan skyline car - for the exhaust mod - i think the cars fatty though - if we could get the microsizer in the muscle machine body (wouldnt work i know) that would be soo fatty - my question is did you notice that the wheels are a really good fit on the micro? i took mine apart completely and pulled the rear axle on my micro and replaced it with the one on the muscle car - it loooks SOOOOOO FATTTY on there - ive got like white replica wheels - they are my favorite rice wheels (as they are made of the lightest material) - also these wheels are wider and have a sim brake disk inside - what are my chances of making these fit on my micro?

well i got the import tuner wheels to fit my bits rear axle, but they are not true and one side sticks out - looks like i have to grind the gear down (to where its just a gear, if you look there is a extra 1 mm or so of non gear space) to get them to fit inside the body - the holes are much smaller than the bits axle so i heated up the axle slightly with a lighter and they slid on - im waiting till i get another car and put the fronts on - btw there is no traction with this setup - if i get the fronts on it will be a decent drifting car i believe - it only slides in high speed turns or if i turn while accel - looks AWESOME thou - you can see tiny brakes - they have nice looking tread, just not sticky - very slippery on slick surfaces (alot like the stock tires, but a little more slippery) - works ok though - gear noise has gone up considerably, i think i messed up the gear

ATTENTION EVERYONE! i know it's been done before and peoples been talking about it...

"What is the best way I can get a PHAT looking muffler for my bit without spending over 4bucks and without a lot of work?!?"

here is the answer...

go to your local Target/walmart/kmart/etc...

and find the "Import Tuner" cars... buy the WRX STI (its has the biggest and best looking exhaust) for about 2.99? around that price, i got mines for about 2.00 (i had friends that work there that gave me a lil discount). Take the muffler off the wrx, put the car on your desk and admire the great artwork.. it really is, then cut a lil bit of the bumper off with an exacto knife from your bit and fit the muffler on... ta da! PERFECT tuner muffler... it looks great!

use super glue to make the muffler stay... :D

not to flame but thats what we are talkin about - the muscle machines import tuner - i got a 00 skyline and im getting ready to glue it on to something - i took the wheels off and got them to fit my rear axle but they arent true so its not going to be my racer, probably be my basher car (drift car)

payaso

as for baby powder that wont work - i think i damaged the gear getting the import tuner wheels on - it looks melty at the tips - its all good thou - got more parts on the way

but thanks anyway i am a newbie but i read about these for a few days b4 i bought one (they do look like a stupid toy, but from my readings i wanted one)

if u go to MJDesigns or a craft store...
go to the model section
there are these long metal tubings, that come in different diameters and shapes..and they are only 25cents each....[alot cheaper than buying a 3.00 car to use one piece of plastic]
and u can make at least 100 muffler tips out of just one rod
they also have the rectangluar ones ...which would look like those on aftermarket Camaro and Corvette cars

Arrive2Defy
10-13-2002, 12:32 AM

...i still like looking at my lil model car... but the 25 cent thing is really good..

u might need a pipe cutter for a smoother cut..
but i just used some pliers and twisted it around till a piece came off
*edit...and then if you bought 2 of the right sizes, you could actually make a muffler and a tip by inserting one into the other
you could then drill a hole near the end of the muffler and mount it on the rear of your Bit with a small skrew
worked for me...and i didnt have to bother painting it haha...
it doesnt give a chrome shine though...more like a stainless steel type metal

For those of you who seem to have a shortage of pen tips, I've come up with a good idea. Use the chrome bars on the plastic part of a model car and cut off a decent sized piece. The good thing about this way, is that you can vary the thickness of the pipe, and if you're really good, you can warm up the plastic with a candle. Also, be sure to sand the edge, and then get a hobby knife and twirl it around the edge to make a hole. When you're done, you can paint the rim, and paint the inside of the pipe black. ;)

By the way, if you want to put this teqnique on a website, please use my name that I wrote it, and came up with the idea.

EDIT
(Sorry for the confusion)

GT-ahh

its not really too big as the whole cars out of proportion so it adds to the super-chibi look... anyway ive seen a car with an exhaust that big. The tip is about the same size as the tail-light which is about 4 or 5 inches, and the muffler is equivalent to about 800mm long which is fairly standard on performance cars now those little stailess pen tips...thats a nice "pencil-pipe" you got going there...

they are just like hot wheels but "soup"ed up. from supras, to civics, to WRXs, etc...

the cool thing about them (not only are they awesome and cheap) [prob like 2.75? i got mines for under 3 with change back...] (but their mufflers are detachable so u can put it on your Bit) pretty cool huh?

its looks pretty good... i even got one! i think the WRX is the best becaust the mulffler is the biggest... =P

hope that helps some.. :D

I've been using the aluminum craft tubing for my exhausts and they work good. The trick to cutting it is to get an exacto blade and put it on the tube perpendicular to it's length at the point you want to cut the tube. Now don't try to cut the tube, but apply a little pressure and roll the tube keeping the blade perpendicular. Roll around both ways a few times, then carefully using pliers (or wedge the bit under something like a screwdriver end) bend the end back and forth a tiny bit. It should break cleanly right where you scored it. Easier to do than explain :) Gets a nice even cut (if you keep your scoring straight and even).

better than the MM: Import Tuner and the 1:64 scale Series 1 Modifiers is the 1:43 scale Series 2 modifiers. it comes with detachable mufflers and screws for the car. the screws fit perfectly in the two holes below the motor. i'm adding a second one soon to have dual exhaust. yes, i realize it sits really low, but i'm gonna shave it down a bit and lower the body, so it'll look normal... and yes a paint job is coming soon.

Supply and demand! The minute people stop paying for them they'll come down in price! I want to see the 3.8 motors drop in price as well. With 3.4 for $2 from vibrator motors I don't see how those 3.8 have to cost more than $10... ;)

I'm not sure how much they cost to make but we don't make them, we buy them from the company that machines them for us. How much do you think a MicroSizer really costs to make? It's not $39.99, but that's the retail price. If companies sold things for how much they cost to make, how would they stay in business!? We can't keep them in stock at this low price, they sell out on pre-order every time - so $12 must be a very fair price, if anything, based on supply and demand, it's too low! :)

Tiny, Any idea if you are going to carry the "vibrator motor" motors? I don't think they have 38,000 but I'll settle for a 34,000 if I can get it for $5 or so. they retail for $2 but the order have to be over $100.

Here are some pics of my Lancer i just put an exhaust on. I used the Muscle Machines import tunerz exhaust (which is extremely easy to take off). All i did was pop the peg in a hole in the rear of the Microsizer and glue it (after cutting it on the back a little with a wire cutters and some elbow grease). then i cut away the thing in the body that looked like a plastic exhaust tip. Thing fit right in and i got the kool offset look.

Pie,
There are many great ideas to making your own pipe.

1.) There is the pen tip idea, where you cut off a piece of a pen tip and put it on your car. Well, for me that idea is a bit messy and the pen tip doesn't really cut that well.

2.) There is the idea where you rip off a piece of the muffler on the Muscle Machines Import Tuners, and put it on your bit. That is a little to costly for me.

3.) Go to The Bit Char-G Place (http://www.geocities.com/BitRacing) and then click on 'Customization', then 'Tail Pipe'. There is a good tutorial where you can make a pipe that isn't costly or messy.

hmm sorry man, i dun got a digicam!! im gonna see if i can get one from my dad's workplace, and get all the pix i can in one nite... hmmm i noticed urs is cut straight into the body, whereas mine is a little bigger in diameter, but it's put into the bottom of the car... like i cut a little semi-circle where the plastic "pipe" thingy used to be...

i'll grab those pix as soon as i can for you!

heh, what mods do you have on that thing?

Coolmanmj
01-05-2003, 05:40 PM
On that celica i had a duel cell mod and then decided to take it off it killed my motors. I switched the stock spoiler with a import tuner one because i think the stock ones don't look that good. The muffler obviously. I switched the stock wheels with import tuner wheels, which didn't work so well because the holes aren't exactly centered and they don't run good (but they looked awesome). I also made a spoiler for it but it looked bad. oh and the intercooler is made from the grip side of a cd case painted silver (the staple ones don't stick so well). i lowered the front 1 tab down. And thats about it for the mods done to this car.

I also kinda melted the pcb cover when puting on the heat shrink for the second battery

Well i look forward to see your celica.

Hi,

I'm planning to use ballpoint pen tips for the mufflers I'm making... How did you guys stick the mufflers into the bodies? I know you shouldn't use super glue, but how about glue gunning it?

Also, what did you use to cut through the body? Would a plain cutter suffice?

Thanks guys!

MicroManiac1
01-06-2003, 09:03 PM
sowy, i cut away the place i wanted to have my exhaust stick through by using a small drill bit, it was hard cause the drill was kind of old (the drill i used stood in place, a handheld one might not work unless u have stable hands). I glued my exhaust to the chassis using plastic cement.

Pie
01-06-2003, 09:27 PM
hmmm.. if you ask me, the pen tips simply arent big enuf... but then again, i AM a riceboy.. :D

i didnt cut a hole in the body, but more dremeled away the plastic pipe thingy and made a semicircle in the bottom of the shell... it looks a little more real, although it decreases the ground clearance a little, as well as being harder to secure.. but it might look better... only with a large diameter pipe tho

hope this helps :)

Coolmanmj
01-06-2003, 11:11 PM
I used a round file to make the hole on my celica. I wish i didn't put the pen tip mod that high. I drilled a hole in the chasis to put the pen tip then i didn't like it got an import tuner muffler (thats whats in those pictures. Man those pics make my celica look dirty.) and filed it up to the hole so it wasn't a complete circular hole in the chasis (I Just confused myself with that one).

Good luck understanding that its kinda hard to xplain.

I don't think I saw any pictures of the "clicky pen" idea. So I thought I'd come up with some myself.

Pardon the mess i'm in the middle of messing with the body, but I taped on the click-pen top to show what it looked like anyway.

For the ZZ (at least the PT) It's rediculously huge, and I think i'll go with the pen tip approach for now (I destroyed my plastic Chrome tailpipes by supergluing them to my finger way to go )

Anyway, it's got a very thin wall and that rolled out edge, so it may look good as a ricer motor for a MS or Bit, since they are "larger" in appearance due to the cartoonish compression.

anyway, here goes.

Just look at all the toys, and see what you can chop. I saw a piece of crap motorcycle with tailpipes that would be suitable to be a big ricer muffler... I've also got a "lowrider" toy that I chopped up. It had a blown engine and stupid looking open headers... but I just chopped the headers and made some pretty decent looking dual tailpipes. They're a bit small, and admittedly not nearly as nice as even the pen-tip ones... but considering the car was less than two bucks, and i had it laying around anyway? It's cheap and easy.

I also put in the blown engine~ which i suppose is more acceptable for a PT since it's american made... even if it is only an inline 4!

Hi guys.

You know how the muffler that you said was too expensive? Well, if you want a real-looking muffler, use a lathe if you know how to use it. My dad made me some mufflers for my Super Bit Char-gs on his lathe. BTW, did you know that you can also make custom rims on one of those automatic CNC machines that make little parts? All you need to do is measure the size of the rims that you wanna make and sketch everthing out. It takes long, but its worth it. I got custom Enkei, BBS and Konig rims on my BCG.
