So much going on for auldeys.. i think they are the best thing to ever happen to poor r/c fans :) but i also was looking at tyco's canned heat.. and wondering.. how similar are they? can you use mods for tjhe auldey on the tycos? are the wheels compatible?

also. can the motors, gearboxes and relays fit? if anyone has both of these cars.. anc can check if they are compatible, it would be great.. thanks

get a Taiyo har har, 2x as expensive, but 2x as fast out of the box...har har
it has no external antenna, has working headlights, and nicer looking cars that Auldey doesnt have.
get them at Hobbylinkjapan

haha... i was talking about tyco's canned heat. but since we are on the topic, are taiyos and tycos similar to auldeys?

they are pretty much the same, they function both with a magnet, have removable motors, the Taiyo has only 2/3mm longer chassis though, im not too sure why, but bodies are swapable if mounted correctly
read my other thread about the FD3S to find out more i guess

if u think about it, Auldeys can be considerd a clone of the Tayio, because Auldey doesnt use real names of cars, or company stickers...Taiyos cost about $26-50, Auldeys cost $9-20
but there are some models that each company doenst make...like lets say Auldey has a 206, Tayio doesnt or Taiyo has a R32, Beetle, RX7, etc, and auldey doesnt etc

it depends on how much u want to spend. For a bang around car, buy an auldey...it wont dissapoint, but the slick tires will drive u crazy....and also the Tayio has NO external anteanna sticking out of it, and the range is awsome...the Auldey has problems, and ive had to add 2 more wires to stop it from studdering and the wire anteanna does get annoying when it keeps wobbling...

thanks mtl, but my biggest question.. will the relay mod work on the taiyos, and can i use auldey motors on them?

no prob, but the answer is, i dont know....ive never done the relay mods yet [dont wanna order it online]...but the Taiyo has a different looking PCB, but im sure it is possible with any rc car to do relays...
the motors are the exact same size as the ones used in Auldeys..except that the Taiyo comes with a copper pinion gear instead of plastic, and i think thats what gives it the most speed in making secure contact with the rear axle

ima head on over to radioshack tomorrow to see if i can find the correct relays so that i can do it myself instead of ordering it...and im also gonna head on over to the LHS to see if they have a fast motor in the racetin size
