mini-x motors

:mad: I wanted to see if anybody had this same problem with the motor on this car or was it that I got lemon my mini-x came with no battery pack so I used 4 duracells it ran ok but when I orded a 6 cell pack It ran real good but it fried my motor has anyone had this happen?

this is a reply to a 6 year old thread, but for anyone that is getting a Mini X ...

the motors are all lemons. the problem is the shaft bushing on the long side is too large in its bore (the hole is too big). Some are large enough that the armature can swing over against the magnets inside the can. If it runs at all, it won't last long before it or the ESC burn out.

Easily fixed, just replace with a bushing (or entire can) from another 130 size motor, but why on earth should one have to in the first place??

The short end bushing is ok - what a screw up this is.

The receiver (rx) is also pretty ordinary, I got 4m range at best.

Mini X summary: Great idea, very poor execution.
