I got my mini-x up&running with 6cells.
I'm more than a bit dissapointed at the results.
I experience massive understeering and lack of power.
I'd blame the low power on the ESC which is an aeroplane esc.
I'll have to look for alternatives.

But any tips on reducing understeering would be appreciated.

Hi W-Tone,

I looked at you car in the gallery. Are you able to move the components around in the car. The understeer could be caused by weight distribution.

Or you need a bias adjust on the centre diff. :D

I agree with butler, play with your weight before discarding the ESC.

Too bad...
The components are pretty much where they fit..
I'll try to relocate the 2 extra cells a little farther back.
Right now the longitudinal center of gravity (probaply not the correct term ;) )
sits just forward of the motor mount.
Exactly where there is a square hole in the chassis.
The thing weighs 214g with the untrimmed body, rtr. Is this much more than your mini-x:es?

On the lack of power.. The esc is not reaching full throttle for some reason. I suspect it's some sort of a compatability issue as the esc is "auto set" type.
Throttle response is veeeery slow compared to a mini-z. Probaply because it's an aeroplane esc.

I don't have a scale that can do grams, but our mailing scales say 5.3oz, which is ~148g. This is with the body, electronics, etc., everything except batteries.

From Sun Sun:

UNDERSTEERING
1. More Camber - adjust the front lower arm knuckle ball
2. More Caster - upside down the front lower arm
3. Change front and rear tyre to type B (MP-26), or C (MP-27), or D (MP-28)

I didn't know that you could adjust castor and camber on the mini-x.

You should be able to dial the understeer out no probs

Yep, this thing is very advanced for its size!
