Newbie to the DTM here!
I am planning on purchasing a ABC DTM sp real soon. Just wondering where can I find the lexan bodies for this car?
Thanks.

Well, according to TinyRC, they're on their way... Hopefully soon. I'm waiting for bodies and parts too! The "other" site that supports them isn't very friendly! LOL.

I'm told that Parma makes some excellent 1/24 Lexan bodies...

You can also use Mini-X bodies on the ABCs.

TinyRC... I've got Ricerocketinwa's used Mini-X... the bodies don't fit the DTM I have. Even if I change the WB setting, it wouldn't fit. Is it only certain bodies?
Do you have any idea when the bodies will come in? Since its been raining (rainiest city in the US), I've not been doing anything with my Micro... so I fixed up my DTM... Now all I need is a body.
Can ya help?

The Thunderer, should be this week or early next at the very latest. IRC, I know you've got X bodies on your ABCs, which are you using?

Oh, and the obvious addition that 1/24 model bodies will also work with a bit of adaption, though they won't be as durable.

Actually, I'm NOT using any body from my X on my ABC... the wheel wells don't match -- even after changing wheelbases on the DTM. You mentioned that some where coming in sometime soon and I noticed that the X's got their shipment... anything come in for the DTM?
The X bodies are to small for the ABC cars. IM runnig one on my Rocket Racer.

that means all the other claimed 1/24 scale rc cars are not actually scaled because the abcs fit the scaled tamiya car model bodies.

was ist los?, what do you mean?
was ist los?

i meant that since the very well replicated tamiya models are the size of the real cars in 1/24 scale and fit the dtms, the dtms are really 1/24, while the others such as mini x and dynamite rr are smaller and should be more like 1/26 scale.

tinyrc, I saw a Mini-Cooper Body on the ABC Hobby website. Is is possible for you to get those bodies? What would the cost to me be? Thanks!

I checked the distributor, Horizon Hobby, and even they don't carry this and many other bodies. If the ABC is a true 1:24 car with slightly adjustable wheel base, may be a body from some Tamiya static models will fit? Of course this will be used for display more than racing.

ROAIS, I will look into it for you.
Clique, HH is the evil US distributor, ABC themselves can probably supply it.

So you can get stuffs from another source other than HH? That would be great! I personaly will never want to buy from HH at their MSRPs.

Tiny RC,
Could you please post a list of ALL the ABC 1/24 scale bodies you can get and pictures if availble. Even ABc's website is NOT updated with their newest bodies.
Thanks ;)

So whats going on here... is that there are no bodies for the DTM's?
I am using a 1/24 scale body from a New Bright rc car BUT my Fiero and Trans Am 1/24 scale plastic model bodies are the same size...
So you could use a 1/24 scale model body... and a nice thing too is they are REALLY WELL detailed, you could pop the hood for access to the little buttons that are on your ecs for on/off! They also come with stickers and are plastic (more durable)!
Anyone else use plastic model bodies on there DTM's?

plastic (more durable)!
Hummm, I would have to disagree with you on that one! Plastic is MUCH more brittle than lexan. I agree they may be more detailed BUT they are also heavier.
There are lots of bodies for both ABC cars, it's just getting them that can be a problem.:p

True... they are brittle... perhaps cracking or breaking on impact.. but they would take a rollover well. The body i have and my model body are pretty flexable (i checked that first) and arent really heavy either. I think that the x4 with the 180 motor wouldnt really notice the model body. Dont really have a way to weigh the body i have but its lighter than a Hotwheels car!

Yes,
It may be light BUT not lighter than a lexan body. Your right the difference in weight and performance from it is negligible. BUT, lexan is more than sturdy enough in a roll-over too.;)

I ordered up a Ferrari 250 GTO body from that 1st site. I had the guy measure the wheelbases on two different bodies, it appears they all are only 100mm. I figure I could make it fit on my DTM-SP but NOT on the X4 :(
Well, I guess I'll know in a week or so.

You'll find that a 1/24 scale slot car wheelbase is about 1/2" shorter than a 1/24 scale RC car. In addition to that, they are very low profile and not scale appearing making them unsuitable for RC. Drag bodies are the exception but they are usually on the narrow side.

Thats interesting!
I dont understand why they can call all these 1/24th cars then when some are longer and some are shorter?? Wouldnt some really be 1/26 or 1/22? Labeling these correctly would really be nice because then you could find out what fits what, better!

well, some types of cars are scaled, while others are not. some cars like the lemans cars actually are longer and are scaled for 1/24, while cars like the mini cooper are way off because it is stretched.

The 1/24 slot bodys come in 2 different sizes they are 4 inch wheelbase and 4.5 inch wheelbase
