Guess what guys? I bought a small bottlecaped sized alluminum tank and injected nos into it since my dad is a mechanic and wired it so that the electricty activated the tank and shoots the nos into the motor. Its so fast. At least 3 times as fast. The speed though might be becasue the air is pushing the car rather than powering it, I dont know, but it is fast. Go nos. Its so sweet. I go to like competetions and show them my nos tank. What do you guys think?

yea post a pic, I can't really see how you can mount a tank onto your bit char-G and have it spray NOS into your motor, lol

and have it spray NOS into your motor

I can't claim to be an electronics expert, but I do have some knowledge, and I can't figure out how NOS would have any effect at all on an electric motor, which neither combusts nor uses O2 at all.
However, a pressurized gas cylinder (filled with anything would provide quite a boost for a very short time, assuming the cylinder wasn't too heavy.
tinyrc
07-31-2002, 07:14 PM
schoon, I think the entire thread is a work of fiction I'm afraid. From the second post where FunkyMonkey4 replies to himself pretending to be another person to the lack of willingness to post a pic of the alleged tank, I think the entire thing is just a joke.
FunkyMonkey4
07-31-2002, 07:18 PM
Okay okay, Ill be honest, it was co2 not nos. But there was a cylinder. You know those c02 tanks from paintball guns where when something is touching the tip air shoots out for about a minute or untill you let go and the 12 grams last about 2 minutes, well thats what I used. I strapped a 12 gram to my car and used a toothpick to stab the hole and had tape aruond the nooze which shot air out at very high speeds which in turn boosted my car. And this story is true. Try it for yourself if you dont believe it. The only thing I lied about was the tank being nos. But I did it to make it sound better so you guys wouldnt laugh at me and for you to notice me.

FunkyMonkey4, take a picture of the car with the CO2 cartridge in front of your computer monitor showing this web site in the background, and you'll prove it to us. ;)

C'mon guys, you didn't know it was a joke from the very beginning?
The CO2 tank idea is actually quite old (but not for Bits). In middle school shop class, we made wooden cars for just that purpose and race them down the hall.
Of course, my lego car would blow the doors off of just about anything...two "C" rocket motors duct-taped to the lightest lego car frame I could make :D Sorry, no pics...those were the days before digital cameras existed and I didn't think to video tape it :(
FunkyMonkey4
08-01-2002, 10:41 AM
Yes that is sort of what I did. I apologize for lying and exagerating. But it is highly possible to do this, as said by ylexot. I did not take any pics of it in action. The tank doesn't work that well but it is ok. Bye, and once again sorry. :)

FunkyMonkey4, you are too funny. You are aware that you have to be at least 13 to use the Forums, correct? Otherwise we need your parents' permission.
As far as "deroogative manner of thinking we all have to back up our owrds fo ryuo so you velieve us", I was able to decipher this I think, and I have to say that this is totally off base. I am sure that every other Forum member will back me up on this one. I asked nicely to see a pic as it's hard to believe that this would actually work, that's all. And you are the only person who has ever been asked to back up their words, so don't say "us", it's just you. Now, go ahead and email the pic like you said you would, the address is forums@tinyrc.com. And try to improve your attitude/behaviour.

NOS i believe is called nitrous in the world of racing NOS is a trademark name by holley sorry i just get kinda mad when people are like ' im going to put some NOS in my car" not realizing that NOS is a trademark hahahahha kinda like kleenex its supposed to be facial tissue yet every calls it Kleenex giving smaller businesses a disadvantage anyway LOL i found it hard to believe that you actually put NITROUS (lol) in your bit i recommend you dont fool us like that FunkyMonkey4 most of us here are grown up enough to not make fun of others ideas anyway please TELL THE TRUTH and please call it NITROUS not NOS this isnt the Fast and the Furious your not having Holley pay you money to use thier name

Just to clear things up...
NOS is a brand of Nitrous Oxide which is represented in chemistry by NO... so maybe we should all listen to Nancy Reagan and "just say NO".
blacksabbath070
08-05-2002, 10:15 PM
as i said NOS is a trademark brand by Holley Stupid kids that dont know anything about cars go around and are like "im using NOS in my crx blah blah blah" and they say that because of the FAST AND THE FURIOUS also its like the whole Kleenex issue NOS is like kleenex which is a trademark brand its actually supposed to be called facial tissue but everyone calls it Kleenex which is sad because it gives smaller businesses a disadvantage..... people can use NOS but they should call it nitrous unless they are speaking of a specific brand like ZEX or NOS but please if your not talking about a specific brand call it nitrous I hope this clears things up

I thought I was @nal about the english language.
Dude... chill...
I realize that a number of items have become known by their brand rather than what they are:
Band-Aids = Bandages
Jello = gelatin
Xerox = photocopy
and so on...
the important thing to remember is that people understand what's being talked about. Unless you represent Holley and are defending their trademark, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

08-06-2002, 10:45 AM
NOS = Nitrous same difference. lol
why dont we just say that your "squeezing"
btw.........after reading this thread, i was laughing so hard that my belly started to jiggle like "Jello" and i started to cry so i needed a "kleenex". as i reached for it, i bumped my knee on the table, so now i need a "Band-Aid". anyways, im going to "Zerox" this thread and use "Scotch" tape to hang it on my wall.

Just a follow up to this apparantly dead thread.
Xerox spent a lot of money in their advertising to seperate their name from the photocopier so they wouldn't have as much trouble branching into other products and to make it easier to defend their trademarked name.
On the other hand there's Zamboni... I'm not sure what you call the actual vehicle/ice clearing machine... but that's another trademark that people use all the time without even thinking there might be other brands.
I'm done with this topic now... I gotta get some NOS (Nights Of Sleep)...

how does it work anyway? Does the COČ just give a boost cause its gushing from the back like a rocket?
lol, after the fast and the furiouss came out, i see a whole bunch of wrongly tuned cars in my neighborhood, there are only a few that tune em right. I can tell cause all of the ones that tune them wrong remove the Honda logo on the front of their car cause in the movie they dont use them on their car, the only prob with that is that when they remove the logo, there is either a big hole where they removed and the paint is faded in the area on their hood, or they removed the logo from the grill and it looks like a deformed grill. lol:p I dont think that they are aware that there are other nitrous brands besides NOS:rolleyes:

nitrous oxide N2O is injected into the engine where the combustion happens. The increase of N2O gives the engine extra fuel for combustion. more combustion(explosion) gives you more power. thats basically it. I don't really know that much about engines. I know there's 2 types of N2O kits. Wet and dry. the wet ones can only be used during wide open throttle which is better for your car. I think the wet goes in with the fuel or something like that...can't remember:o

I think thats how it works. The CO2 air gushes out causing extra thrust. Also, to the person who wrote before. You get air flowing out by stabbing anything to the tip of the tank. If anything touches that, air begins flow out. I dont think the writer meant that he stabbed the toothpick into the middle of the tank causing air to rush out from the side. lol. Either way, the thread is probably bogus.
One more thing-
Does anyone know where to get those metal alloy rims for a bit char-g and those alloy exhaust pipes?

Uh, nooooo.... The small CO2 cartridges are sealed shut. There is NO valve on them. You need to peirce the end to allow the gas to escape the cartridge, and you'll need a good deal of force to begin with. Once you do it the cartridge is useless.
Or you can use the 12oz cansiters that are used on paintball guns, but they are WAY to big... Heh. Not to mention you still need a good deal of force to open the valve on it.

I remember seeing a small, very very small engine at a hobby shop that runs off of a co2 cartridge. It simply runs off the pressure coming from the tank although it looks just like a tiny airplane engine(it was made for micro plane use).I'm not sure if it had throttle control or not (don't remember that-probaly not since it was so small).Even so the lenght of the tank was longer than a BC-G.
I may have to run down to that hobby shop and see if they still have it just to check it out again.

God Damn It
its n2o not no2
NO2 is non-combustible
N2O (nitrous oxide) is...
co2 being poked with a toothpick...BS!! a co2 cylender is welded shut at the mouth and your car would not go any faster with is on because of the weight, a paintball CO2 cylender and nitrous would smash the Bit's chassis. If your talking about the mountain biking CO2 inflator cylenders maybe.
CO2 cylenders ARE NOT FILLED WITH JUST COMPRESSED CO2, MOST IF NOT ALL HAVE ABOUT HALF FILLED WITH LIQUID CO2
Crack the bottle and let the gas come out the back...BULL**** the liquid would come out and burn you becuase of the temp
and yes, nitrous is injected straight into the engine's cylynder(s)
for the people that know what im talkin bout and know what nitrous is...im proud of you for telling them posers off

C and D rockets on a Bit? Sounds like the guy who put a JATO rocket on his '63 Impala. And you all read how he ended up in the Darwin Awards didn't you? He he he...
And as a clarification, NOS, N20, Nitrous, or whatever you prefer to call it isn't fuel for the engine. It's just a more convenient form of oxygen for your vehicle. This is why you MUST add extra fuel when you give your engine a shot of nitrous. Otherwise you lean the engine way out, and pre-ignition and bad things your engine doesn't like start to happen. It's just supplying more oxygen like blow blower or turbo would...it just happens to come in bottle form! :D
Anyways, I might have to go throw a JATO booster on one of my Zips now...see if I can melt my brakes, and crash into a cliff!

hey people i think i kno how the co2 tank can be kinda be like nitrous oxide!!u need to make something like a turbo ..or u can use a fan and twist the fan blades...stick the fan on ur axel( i dont kno how to do that but u can try)...then make a lill capcule around it with a hole that kinda sticks out on both sides the capsule has to me loose enuff that the fan can spind....then attach a hose to both holes...for the co2 tank u have to try to find a lil servo, a valve, and another controller so u can acctivate it whille ur driving..when ur done that make sure the servo is conneted to the valve and its strong enuff to open the lil tank... then connect the valve to the hose and put the hose pointing to the back..the free hose will be the exsust pipe...now u have to modify ur controller..take the other controller that goes with the servo and pull out the chip and wires...open your original controller thats for the car and put a lil button in the plactic...u might have to make an exturnal battery port the the servos controller chip...so place ur servos controller chip inside ur bits controller...and try connecting it to the bit controller antenna too..well thats its...i kno theres still things missing to complete it...it sounds kinda good..i think it should work...but the servo may be to big for it....and u may need a diffrent battery for it..if ur trying it good luck...im gonna try it when i have some money but for now all i have now are dreams:D

Real cars don't need 4 extra cylinders either. Somone go buy some of those mini rockets (go to hobby lobby-you'll see) and strap them to your car. they look like they'd just fit. Oh, and nice thread, it all started with a boosted bit too:p
