Hi,

The standard ESC of Mini-X Version 2 could be upgrade with two extra FET (the PCB has a space for that).

Who knows where is possible to find them ?

Com'on ... nobody knows it !

I got two MOS FET N ... rated 98 A ... going to try if I can use them ...

The Mini-X V2 ESC look very good by default ... already with more Amp then a 130 motor can handle ... but I maybe it could be used with bigger motor them 130 !

catman25, check out http://mini-zracer.com for an explanation of FET stacking; basically it allows more current to your motor. :)

im actually curious what the fets do .offer more power to motor?or do they protect the speed controll from killing it self?also i got a chassis kit and the motor dont work .got it fromy you tiny..any tech places that shows how to fix?also tiny do you sell chassis kits alreay equiped with bearings?can slot racing motors work in these how bout those wide foam tires..im gonna take my minix in the slot racing shop and blow um away ..i hope:rolleyes:

hi, i have an es-01 and i was wondering if i stacked some fets on it, would it still burn out on 6 cells after a while? i thought that stacking fets just protected the esc? if so where can i get some for my es-01?

As I understand the issue with regards to ESC and FETs is:

A FET (field effect transistor) is like a tap, a little effort can control the flow of a lot of water (current). However the 'tap' has a given maximum rate of flow. If you have more taps, you can allow more current to flow.

My question is:

Do the taps all have to match each other? Without pouring over the circuit diagram or pulling apart the PCB I cannot tell if the circuit depends in any way on the type of Transistor being used. Could I just use larger FETs with similar characteristics or does the circuit depend on some sort of peculiar property of those transistors? NE1 got NE ideas or tried something like this?

Also:

NE1 know how much current a stock X draws, all stock with 5 cells? (No Multi-meter)

I posed a similar question on the mini-z forum (mixing stock FETs with aftermarket). A layman's explanation of the answer I recieved was that the stock FETs opened faster than aftermarket FETs so for a very brief period of time the stocks would absorb all of the current, causing them to overheat. How this applies to the mini-x or the FETs you plan to use I cannot say. Good luck if you decide to try it and please let us know your results.
