The Kawada trip mate doesnt seem to have such a big following. So what i would assume is that it doesnt have that many hop-ups available. i could be wrong though. Maybe it doesnt even need that many hop-ups if its alread in race condition

super_micro, Kawada has a full line of hop-ups planned, but hasn't released them yet, they are still in testing. However, the Kawada drives much better than a Mini-Z out of the box, and a lot of hop-ups that you'd want for a Mini-Z aren't needed, e.g. it already has a roll shock, very nice tires, and infinitely adjustable toe-in/out.

We finally got the updated hop-up list from our Japanese distributor; highlights include replacement body mounts (since you have to stick them to each body), ball diffs, an external switch so that you don't have to remove the body, bearings, motor mount, variable angle wing...

Hi Ted,
The shop is located in the Philippines. We presently have one retail shop and will soon open another one.

Could you do me a favour, please? I need to dee the diff. On your site there's a photo of a plastic bag containing a white plastic gear-diff. I need to see THE OTHER SIDE of it. As in, could you open a bag and post a photo here?
Ok, I'll explain why. This diff looks exactly like a TAMTECH diff. If it has the same dimentions, you can guess the consequenses...

Do you mean the stock diff? I'll post a pic when I get home.

I meant the gear-diff. The pic I posted above is my old (still running) Tamtech.
I need to see both sides of the two "output" cogwheels.
In other words, the cogwheel I have removed on the above pic so we can see into the diff.
Thanks!

I have two Tripmates in my basement. They got parked there about 4years ago when i could not find parts for them. But, now that I've found this site, I'll be ordering some stuff and pulling those cars out of the moth-balls.:D

Wow! 4yrs. I believe MID version should have changed a lot ever since then. :) Does Kawada have any steel pinion gear instead of stock plastic one?

Buy from Kyosho then. 1/8 motorcycle "hop-ups".
And DONUT, a thousand thanks for the pics!!! This is really good news! The Kawada diff is a faximile of the old Tamtech diff. Which is no longer serviced...:( Now we're finally able to buy new diffs for our (still in service) Tamtechs :)
The only difference is the right hand side bevel gear. A bit different, but this is not the part that wears out. The spur gear and the tiny bevel gears are identical.
All this of course means that the Kawada ball-diff also should fit our Tamtechs...

I just received an e-mail from Kawada regarding hop-ups for M24-Mid. They are ready to release the cheaper CPR unit (with servo) very soon. However, I got my custom setup already. No need anymore.:D
