View Full Version : Diff slippage?

I just got my Epoch 1/43 Integra R blue body today. It seems a lot cooler than the defective Z-car (Zip Zap type) that I returned to Hobby People today. The Epoch is waaaay more car IMHO (also a lot more money for a tiny).

My problem is that I seem to be experiencing a lot of diff slip in my Epoch. The car goes downhill well but let it encounter a small uphill (like a slightly off level garage floor) and the car slows noticibly with much more noise that sounds like the diff slipping on a 1/10 scale car.

Is this normal? Can I tune the diff and tighten it up for a little less slip?

It is possible that your wheel is spinning on the hub. If so you can use some very thin doubble sidded tape to fix it.

The wheel doesn't seem to be slipping at all.. I've looked at both sides as this car seems to have some sort of limited (if tiny) diff.

If I hold both wheels, the motor does bog, but when runnning it seems to spin up while the car is not accelerating, but moving slowly.

The diff and wheel hubs are a press fit to the axel. If any of these are slipping you should send the car in for warranty as I don't think it is fixable. Epoch needs to have replacement parts available especialy diff's.
