i've finally moved into a new section of my hobby: custom dnano paint jobs - i think i can do a lot better than this, but here's the first one. i'll keep it for sentimental value, drive when there's no one else on the track, etc. future projects will be for full use. the next one is a Gallardo and i have some sweet ideas for it.... i also plan on creating a special edition full chassis set with all hop-ups installed including the limited edition body. what do you think?

How about a black one with the Dnano-green logo's all over it? Kind of like a Matrix-look with black/green?

does anyone know of a source for martini racing decals at this scale? i'd love to make a transformers jazz porsche dnano. i've done this for the mini-z already. i made the custom packaging insert material as well.

Wow arch! You could almost sell that off as the real-deal! Transformers Special AutoScale series! :D
Maybe find some of the smaller Transformers and use their stickers?

Arch. Always check with Patto's. He carries 1/43rd scale. He has frequently sized my requests to 1/27th as well for the Z's at no additional cost.
does anyone know of a source for martini racing decals at this scale?
What I found back when I was doing scale modeling was 1/43 scale was the most popular worldwide and there were resin cars, hopups, and decals you couldn't dream of getting in the larger 1/24-1/25 scales. There are even crazy kits out there to get markings from _specific_ races!!
Ya gotta be a little resourceful and be willing to order overseas as it seemed a lot of these places and cottage industries were in the UK and other parts of Europe. There are a couple cool modeling magazines from UK (names slipping mind now) and if you can get your hands on one or two just look at every little advertiser. Martini is a super common livery so it shouldn't be hard to find at all. I'll see if I can come up with anything as this is a quest that interests me as well.
OK, back after a search. This site while not having tons of decal pics, has good inventory it seems http://www.grandprixmodels.co.uk Be prepared if you go down this rabbit hole, it get's deep!! The people who complain about the cost of a dNano have no clue how much some have spent on details and hopups for STATIC models!! But, if you want the right "look or "effect" just open your wallet and do it, it is worth it for the glory :) EXAMPLE: The paint alone for my Gallardo cost more than the body and fitting kit :)

the time alone you put into customs is worth more than the car itself. the box insert material alone took me about 20 hours of work. if i were more exprienced with photoshop it would have gone quicker but i'm still a novice :p.

Good job for a rookie. I chuckle at the possibility those pics may end up in Kyosho Japan and somebody will have a "bright idea" HAHAHA

Fraz and Arch2b,
If you find anything good (decals) for the dnano please tell me. I saw that one important company is portuguese. I phone them but they only do 1/32 and 1/24. I don't wanna get into the "rabbit hole" but my Porsches deserve some special treatment. And the other dnanos to come...
Right now i can't live without this ;-)...just look at my post, they are everywhere...
http://www.raceland.de/websale7/?shopid=raceland&subshopid=raceland-e (it came from a friend of mine). It has the Martini decals...
Thanks
Nuno

I would like to take my white 911 GT3 and replicate it's bigger Mini-Z brother. You know, that ultra rare white/silver graphics one? Would need some silver GT3 graphics for 1/43.
Oh hey arch! Maybe now you need to do a Decepticon model! Maybe take the new Skyline GTR body like that Dnano one you have? That would be a cool one!
Need a Decepticon to go with that Autobot!

there are some decepticons that could be made is a complementary scheme. you can buy transfomers sticker from cobrasticker.com sister site reprolabels.com. i typically use these on most of my cars as small, personal upgrades to most of my autoscales.
i've attached some pictures.
the renault has the real working rub symbol on the roof.
the asc box insert was a labor of love. it was a long learning process. if you look closely, i actually cropped out the figure and overlayed it over a slightly blurred copy of the same image. this the image some depth to it.
i have not found any decal sets that offer the full compliment of livery decoration. you can find martini logos, etc. but not the full package.

I like what you've done arch! I really loved that box packaging and I can see some future possibilities! I'd like to see what you could do for the Decepticons version!
Back to the Porsche's, when will the new paint scheme Dnano bodies be available? Any release date? I'm digging that black/orange one.

i'm currently holding off on any new paint jobs... i probably should focus on selling product as opposed to using it all myself :o

valid concern but it's also good advertising :) have you thought about offering that as a service? there are a couple on mini-zracer for example that seem to do well doing that. it's not going to pay the bills but it seems like consistent work for them.

1/24 is too big for mini-z and virtually none of them are available in 1/43. not a bad sight and i've had it bookmarked for years. just never have anything in the right scale for me.

If you ask then they scaled it to 1 / 28, some Belgians have so ordered. Thought everything on 1 / 43 was available.

interesting, so they will print to custom scales?
95% of the sets are available in 1/24, 1/32 and 1/64 only. this is how they are shown on the website.

Yes, this man would surely do. It was a group purchase, whether it is for 1 decal I do not know.
Goodluck. ;)
