i just cannot decide which one to choose!!!! dNaNo or Mini Z!?!?!?!?
I have Mini Z's and I ordered a dNano.. :D
I have not driven dNano yet but.... If I had to choose... :(
I don't want to choose. I want both! But I can tell you Mini Z f1 has been my favorite Mini Z car. It is harder to drive on a tight technical track because of longer wheelbase than Mini Z racers but I just love formula 1 anything! I hope Kyosho makes dNano f1's soon. :D
dNano comes with 2.4 ghz, which is a newer technology compared to the AM radio frequency transmitters. You will be able to use the same transmitter for future Mini Z cars as long as they are 2.4 ghz.
If you buy Mini Z with AM radio first then you will have to buy 2.4 radio for dNano in the future.

I have both and if I had to choose I'd go Mini-z.
Mini-z has:
- more bodies with more detailed elements
- more tuning options for more competitive racing
- a variety of platforms, 2wd, 4wd, F1
- costs less
That being said the dnano performs very well and if you're really strapped for space for a track maybe a better option.

dNano I guess is really about the cool factor...

7 years mean the Mini Z's have withstood the test of time like the 1/10 scale cars. I would be more worried about dNano being just a short lived fad. I don't race either anyway so it doesn't matter as much as long as I can find the parts. But 2.4 ghz is the way of the future for certain.

so which one should i get dnano or mini z?

Are you going to be racing the car? Is there a race track in your area? Do they race both Mini Z and dNano?
If there is no track, do you have room in your house where you can setup your own track? There is no way you can unleash all the speed/power/handling of a Mini Z in your house. But you will be able to get closer to the limit of a dNano.
Howerver, there is very limited parts support in the US for dNano.
I would go with a Mini Z....

i do have a dnano track and a mini z track close to me, so i will be racing it.

I would look for the best deal on MR02 to keep the budget low and see how you like these small scale RC cars.
If you like it and still would like to try dNano then save up money for it. dNano costs $250 (car, Tx, charger, battery). Bearings are $30.

so which mini z should i get?
Thanks for the link. I'll probably end up with a mini-z sometime soon as well.
As for what mini-z to get, I'm probably gonna get an MR-02, but all I'd do with my mini-z is race. There's lots of bodies available for the MR-02, lots of upgrades, lots of help because they're so popular, lots of spares available, etc. If you wanna drift, and there's an AWD racing class at the HK mini rc club, that might not be a bad idea either. It's all personal preference.

why do u want the mr02 and not the AWD?? because the AWD can drift and drive like the MR02! i think it will be a good idea for you to get the same one as i do cuz the illustrations for racing, they said you will need 2 team members to race, and the 2 members have to have the same car, so yea u wanna get the same one and race together?

Since the body costs like $40, I would go with a body I like so that I won't need to buy another body to please my eyes. I like RWD cars.. so MR02. For me, it would be the F430 GT white test car. $159 + shipping. Then I would get some sticky tires, ball bearings, and ball diff. That's the minimum upgrade parts you will need.
Since you have decided on the car you should go ask the guys on Mini Z racer forum. There is more info there.

thx for the info man!!!!
I'll definitely end up with both, but I'm still not sure which one I'll get first. I'm leaning towards the MA-010 after the reading I did today.

i think the AWD is good, u wanna get that?
i think the AWD is good, u wanna get that?
Yeah, probably. I think the general census seems to be that on a tight track, AWDs are the king. Our track here in Hong Kong in pretty tight.

Actually this year will be the 10th anniversary of Mini-Zs! They're not going anywhere, I assure you. The dNaNo would be a far greater worry, especially given the short life of the Mini-Z LIT (http://mini-zracer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&f=80&page=1&pp=25&sort=lastpost&order=desc&daysprune=-1) - and the restrictive/bizarre way it's being rolled out. :)

so which mini z should i get?
If you buy mini-z so then you should buy 2,4 Ghz ready set because of the Mhz is taking so much interference.
Dont buy old Mhz versions!
AWD is the best choice for racing and drifting. Awd is much diverse than mr02.

i dont think there is a ready set for 2.4ghz you can only buy it separately....

I wonder how much the dNano's will sell here when the hobbytown deal is over. I mean the hobbytown price is much better than the ebay price already but ...

Kyosho are firm on MAP pricing for ReadySets, so it's likely they'll be the same everywhere (other than places that want to gouge the customer obviously).
