I think I already posted this car on another forum, but it looks like I forgot to put it here.
The body is a 1/43 slot car body that I stretched. I also added ground effects so the body would hug the wheels better.
The car is a loose representation of a French car that raced at LaManns in the 70s.

The body is held on with stock peg strips taken from the RacerX car body.

The decals were found online.

The car is clear coated to protect the decals and give it that new car shine. The tailpipes are metal sections cut from TV rabbit ears.

The wheels were painted to match the French car as well. The light gray parts of the decals are actually chrome. It makes for a dramatic design idea.

There are two main differences in this car and the 1/1 scale car it represents. The real car has a huge wing on the back. I opted for the stock carrera wing. Also, the real car has a slightly different front air dram design.

I'm not sure why this car is so famous. I found pics and articles about it all over the web. I don't think Chereau ever won a race. And, he came in 20th in that LaManns race. But, this car is everywhere. So I guess the fans liked it anyway.

Nice conversion for the Epoch! I find it sitting high on the chassis, but I know it is difficult with the Epoch.
Why do you say it raced in the '70s? Actually that car raced at Le Mans in 1997. Chereau later raced a Viper in the same livery and it was released as a Mini-z autoscale.

Nice conversion for the Epoch! I find it sitting high on the chassis,Maybe a bit. I don't really like the slammed look, though I'm sure the real car is much lower. The slot car body has zero room inside so just getting it on there was job enough.

No prob, it was just to let you know. Myself I was only aware of the Chereau Viper and I discovered with you that they also raced Porsches :)
These (http://alain.galluser.free.fr/Z/Epochs.jpg) are my Epoch conversions BTW. It is rather old stuff but I still have them.

Very nice! Looks like you found a good source of properly scaled bodies to fit the Epoch chassis.

Thanks! They are 1/43 AMT "snap-together" plastic kits. They are old but you can still find them from time to time on the bay for under $10. Only big muscle cars from the '70 fit though, the yellow Mustang is rather tight.
