Hey Guys,
I Was Wondering If You Could Put ZZSE Control Board Into A ZZMT. I Could Upgrade The Steering Servo Later. I Pretty Sure It Can Be Done But Would The Higher Torq. Motor Fry The FETs In It.
Also Could A ZZMT Be Used To Make A TTTT Truck. It Would Save Me A Lotta Work To Build One Than Start From Scratch.
I Posted The Question In The TTTT Forum But No Answer.

The reason is not because it can't be done but because of the SE limiting power (depending on the SE, it could only have 20% of power going to the motor). If you do Codesuidae's DC mod, that'll fix that problem, but at that point, it might be easier to just use an Iwaver board.

Where Can You Buy The Iwaver Board Or The Mini-z Board At?
Let Me Check Tower But I Dont Think They Have It.
Does Anyone Have One They Can Sell To Me?

Talk to Draconious over on tiny rc's sister site, www.mini-zracer.com . He's a mod over there and has a lot of parts.

The primary reason to not put SE electronics into an MT is because SE electronics cannot easily be used to do non-propo steering. The SE board must be used to run a steering gearbox with a steering potentiometer for feedback. That makes it difficult to fit into an MT (and expensive if you don't happen to have a junk SE).
You can do it, you just have to go all the way and do a monster truck with propo steering.
Without the DC mod it will have less power, but if you tricell or li-poly it this won't be a problem, it'll have plenty of power.

I thought the SE had some way of limiting voltage. It's been awhile, so I can't remember if that's right or not.

The SE controls voltage to the motor using a PWM drive signal, but a FETted SE it is capable of delivering just as much current as a FETted MT (presuming the same battery and a DC mod, without the DC mod it will deliver 56% the current because of the limited duty cycle)
