hey guys, i got an idea.

instead of competing with one another....since they ALWAYS have more tanks up. lets coordinate this....and not make the price super high for each other.

deal? ok....after i get permission from my mom tomorrow, i'm gonna bid on a tank

is anyone currently bidding?

how bout you stop doing that. just because you pay a rediculous price doesn't mean everyone else has to as well. And I beleive that's probably illegal and you could get into some trouble if they ever found out about this thread...(proof is here on the board) I have a friend that took a company to court, because they took his job from him after he posted something on the internet about something they were developing.

Just for future reference here's the law being broke.

3304. Criminal mischief.
(a) Offense defined.-A person is guilty of criminal mischief if he:

damages tangible property of another intentionally, recklessly, or by negligence in the employment of fire, explosives, or other dangerous means listed in section 3302(a) of this title (relating to causing or risking catastrophe);
intentionally or recklessly tampers with tangible property of another so as to endanger person or property;
intentionally or recklessly causes another to suffer pecuniary loss by deception or threat; or
intentionally defaces or otherwise damages tangible public property or tangible property of another with an aerosol spray-paint can, broad-tipped indelible marker or similar marking device.

(b) Grading.-Criminal mischief is a felony of the third degree if the actor intentionally causes pecuniary loss in excess of $5,000, or a substantial interruption or impairment of public communication, transportation, supply of water, gas or power, or other public service. It is a misdemeanor of the second degree if the actor intentionally causes pecuniary loss in excess of $1,000, or a misdemeanor of the third degree if he intentionally or recklessly causes pecuniary loss in excess of $500 or causes a loss in excess of $150 for a violation of subsection (a)(4). Otherwise criminal mischief is a summary offense.

I alway bid what I am willing to pay for an item. We all know what these tanks retail for so I bid accordingly. Lets face it, eBay for the most part, is a sellers market.

Say an item has a starting bid of $1, and I'm willing to pay $40, thats what I bid. If no one else bids, I pay $1 for the auction. Most peeps who try to run up the bid will quit after several tries figuring my bid is just too high. If they outbid me at $40 they can have it.

As far as any laws being broken in running up bids, I don't see it. If someone tries to run up the price of an item, they run the risk of winning the auction and having to buy something they may not have wanted.

Pitstain, I'm taking it that you are joking anyway, but even if you are serious, any auction is fair game as far as I'm concerned.

There is absolutely NO deception taking place by bidding up an auction!!!!

O, here's some advice for you all complaining about this bidding up stuff:

Wait until the last 2 minutes before bidding OR download one of those programs that will do it automatically!!!

Any more problems? :rolleyes:

Bidding on an item with no intent to buy the product, that is deception. Of course he doesn't win the auction because others are dumb in finding bargains but what he is doing is still illegal in the court of law. It's along the same lines as going somewhere to eat, ordering your food, and then leaving without eating it or paying. Beleive it or not that is illegal and you can be prosecuted for it. I've had friends go through it all and it's not pretty.

yea ou have a point, i stopped doing it.... and i've bought liek 53 thigns on ebay, paid for everyone except for one... my record is pretty clean...

gertman

There is no proof that the person is not really going to buy!! The best a seller can do is not sell to some one with a crappy record.

Besides, I really don't think this stuff is will be ebays undoing..........I think it will be the invasions of forgery products. Cheap imitations made in China!:(
