Hey folks,
I love the Digi-Q Combat tanks and got some Formula cars too.
I think they are really sweet! Frankly, I think they are some of the most "race-able" micro cars out there.... given the right surface... but I digress...
It took me a while, but I finally got a Konami Sound Tower and cards for my tanks and cars... AWSOME!
In case you don't know about this item... it's an official Konami product designed to greatly enhance the "gaming" experience of these MicroIR toys.
It's an 8 inch tall tower, with 4 slots in the back (where a card for each type of IR toy needs to be plugged... combat, Formula, train, godzilla)
Once it's set up and turned on, it reads the IR signals in the room and broadcasts appropriate sound effects!!!
When you turn on your remote, you hear the car start up and rev the engine!! When you accelerate, you hear the car rev up and change gears!! It's got that hyper-tuned, high-pitch whirr of the real cars. When you decellerate, you hear the car gear down and break!! It's amazing!!!
It even has an RCA jack for more output... sub-woofer?!?!
You can see them on EBay (from Japan only) for about $42 for the tower and $15 for each card. I think you need a card for each player/car you're racing. (I turned on 2 remotes with only one card in the tower and it only listened to the first controller I turned on)
Yes, it can get expensive... but MAN oh MAN it's cool!!!
If anyone out there has this accessory, lemme know... I want to hear more opinions!!
