Fwahhhahahahaha! Cool. Looks very similar to a micro. Especially with its wheels on and a body to cover the "real truth". :D

The real truth is BRP SC18 pan car beats the micros all the time in the races in Ohio.Plus you can get the big block speed 300 motor and it way too fast.:D

Sorry Mykroe, but I've tried my brothers micro, and to tell you the truth it is like a mop on carpet and wood floors compared to the Mini-Z and well, the slow Bit Char-G. It is fun though, I do like it! :D

Everyone here obviously hasn't experienced the full capabilities of the Micro RS4. These cars have an endless hop up capabilities! The best place to learn is no doubt yourmicro.com!!!!

I would have to agree with Mykroe on all counts. But slotsurfer is also correct, the SC18 will beat an equally-equipped Micro, just because of the pure physics.

I am not gonna disagree with that one tinyrc! :D

Check out my web site for tips and pic's.....My stock SC-18 will out run a stock Micro. My friend down the street has a mod micro (about $740), he beat me untill I put in the BigBlock with the BRP rear pod conversion kit. Now he is looking for a faster motor!

Mykroe>> Check out the latest Car Action! You could have a fleet of BRP cars for what some have put into there Micros. We have yet to come across any micro that has beat out cars and that includes those with 6 cell and mod motors, and other hop up parts. Just For your info You can get a BRP SC18 for $79.95, $69.99 at Tower hobbies, Ball diff is $20.00 and a 6 cell battery $26.00 your radio and your ready to go.
Well anyhow we have a great group of racers up this way and we have a blast with the 1/18th cars.
Also we have 14 different body styles that will work on the long Micro with the wheels all the way out.
Peace
:)

BudBartos>>I can get a Micro kit for $75, A ball dif for $10, and convert my car to six loose cells for $.99! I really can get all those prices but anyways I have that RCCA issue and did they test the SC18 with 6 cells and a stock motor? I won't argue that the car is fast and has a great setup.....And is cheap. You know...I just had a thought...If the micro had LESS parts than it would be cheaper to hop up like the SC18! LOL...I have nothing against your BRP cars and their quality....I was thinking about getting one for a second whem I remembered that my micro is where my money is devoted to! lol...

two different classes. 4wd nd 2wd. so, it's a matter of preference. 2wd for more top end, 4wd for drifting. I like both cars.

Well, to be honest, I own both cars. The Micro is a great car, but you have to learn how to maintain and set it up properly. Otherwise, it won't perform well. The car is VERY sensitive to the setup. One bad choice in the selection of parts and the whole package won't perform.
The BRP SC18 handles really well out of the box! The only time I needed to upgrade to the Orion BB motor was when the competition (Micro RS4 racers) started using Orion Elite motors! Other than that, I used the stock motor against them ever since! GPM High Torque motors, Orion Mods... none of them could keep up.
To this day, the only thing I've broken on the car was the ball diff. I hit (at full speed) a track barrier at a bad angle and it bent. I tried to bend it back and I accidentally snapped it! I just installed a new diff and it was back to racing.
Sure, the Micro has endless Hop Ups to choose from... But, that's because it needs it. The SC18 doesn't. From an economic point of view, the SC18 is a great deal that the Micro just can't touch!
More HP to BRP! Way to go Bud!

Ok my bro got a Mrs4, and some of you may know I just don't like AWD, so this looks like its the option....
can you fit anyother body besides the BRP specific ones?
The american bodies are sure ugly....
Micro_Racer

Yes you can fit Micro RS4 bodies on the SC-18, just know that the Micro body is not as wide as the SC-18. I have the BRP HPI tire adapters on my SC-18.

hmm that looks cool,
Do you have a picture of your chassis like close up?
Also are all MRS4 bodies the samd width? Or are there wider ones that acomidate the BRP?

The Civic is the narrowest body I think. Other bodies like the Stratus are not as narrow. It will take some creative trimming around the wheel’s to fit the SC-18. I have tried the Parma 1/18 bodies and the truck’s fit nicely.

Here's the BRP SC18 with the GTP Sport body painted in Jaguar livery of the mid-80s.
A friend took the photo after I beat the body up racing... silly me. Photos first, then race...

Real KEWL! That's a real race car! Great job on the paint scheme. What brand is the body? That's something I would like to use on my BRP.

Well, the body is the BRP GTP Sport body.
Bud should advertise this one with the SC18. He's had it for sometime...
It is amazing what one can do with a little paint and time... ;D
I have always loved the Jags and I figured the paint scheme would work even it the body wasn't really a Jag. The GTP Sport body is of the Chevy Intrepid that came on the GTP scene in the late 80s. GTP was an IMSA sponsored race series with cars similar to the LeMans cars. The Nissans were kicking butt but the Jags always gave them heartburn with Martin Brundle and Jan Lammers driving. The American LeMans has rekindled the class with Panoz's owner responsible for the series' inception and growth from the dream stage. Abroad the GTP equivalent was Group C and I forget what it changed into... I ramble on... sorry.
Jaguar raced a car with a paint scheme similar to this. I simplified it some. A hobby shop in town had lots of old 10th scale decals and I ran across this Castrol Jaguar decal set and used the smaller elements. It was $4.50 for it. The Jaguar was a black outline...I took some white thin sign vinyl (vinyl sign shop scrap) and applied the decal to that and trimmed around it to form the Jaguar leaping decal. The only drawback was the decals had the Jag leaping in that one direction. The original car had the Jags on the top behind the doors.
I used auto pin striping to layout the design and then masking tape for the larger areas. Just go over the edges before spraying to make sure everything is down so you don't get bleeders. That and slowly build the paint layers for coverage. Simple design, complicated mask.
I'm glad you like it...I am happy with it
I'm doing a sister of it this winter.
Oh yeah, the car will have to have a micro servo to use the body. I used a HS81MG. I ended up having to fabricate a strap across the servo's top surface from underneath both front chassis plate screws. As you can see, I smack the pipes of the course a few too many times...that has the tendency to dislodge the servo from the servo tape.
The micro servos don't have enough surface area to be strong enough to withstand repeated smacks. Also, you will want to put a 1/16 inch spacer below the servo to provide clearance for the servo saver. A bit of fiberglass strapping tape around the entire front across the servo would probably hold the servo too... I made one of the straps out of thin brass sheet. It wasn't heavy enough. I ended up taking some brushes that had eyelets I had replaced on my M03's Chameleon and I clipped the brushes off and then measured and soldered the ends together to provide a strap that held the servo down...
The body is $12 from BRP and it doesn't come with window masks... some striping tape and masking tape and a sharp Xacto knife is all you need to fix that...
